Make sure you install the correct type of KODAK Ink Cartridge for your printer. Currently we offer two types of ink cartridges (10 Series and 30 Series). Installing the wrong type of ink cartridge may result in this error. You will need to install a new, correct type of KODAK Ink Cartridge. NOTE: For more information, see Which ink cartridges to buy for all-in-one printer.
If you are using the correct type of KODAK Ink Cartridge, reinstall the color ink cartridge.
Wait until the printhead is idle and silent, then pinch the latch on the color ink cartridge with your thumb and forefinger and lift it out of the printhead.
Install the color ink cartridge back into the printer, making sure to press down on the thumb tab until it clicks into place.
Close the printer access door. For printers with LCDs, follow the instructions on the LCD screen. For more information on installing ink cartridges, see the Extended User Guide for your printer. Review Maintaining Your Printer - Replacing ink cartridges.
If the error continues, restart your printer:
Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
Wait five seconds.
Turn on the printer.
If the error continues, and you have extra, new KODAK Ink Cartridges on-hand, try to install a new ink cartridge (or a set of new ink cartridges).
How do I install a new printhead in my all-in-one printer?
To replace the printhead in your all-in-one printer:

NOTE: For ESP 3250 and ESP 5250 all-in-one printers:
On the printer control panel, press Home.
Select Maintenance, then press OK.
Select Install Ink Cartridges, then press OK. If "Install Ink Cartridges" is not an available selection, upgrade the firmware.
Remove any paper that may be loaded in the printer.
Remove the black and color ink cartridges and set them aside.
Remove the existing printhead:
For ESP Series Printers, unlatch the printhead by lifting the latch in the center of the carriage.
For 5000 Series Printers, unlatch the printhead by pressing the button in the upper-left corner of the carriage.
Lift the printhead out of the carriage.
Remove the new printhead from its bag.
CAUTION: Do not touch the copper contacts on the printhead, as this may damage it.
Remove the plastic protective shields.
Place the new printhead into the carriage.
Push firmly against the target label of the printhead until you hear a loud snap.
Insert the color ink cartridge into the printhead and press down until you hear it click into place.

I've got a solution. We should find a way to file a class action lawsuit against these companies. Not just for ourselves, but for the environment itself. For years I've had issues with bad printheads and the ink costing more than a newer printer that comes with ink! That ink is toxic to the environment. I know places like Staples offer incentives to recycle them now. But what about the years before? Not to mention the idea of an entire printer going to a landfill since it's 'no good' anymore. Plastic produced from crude oil, logic boards silicon, lcd panels, steel roads, etc. Those are finite resources that don't just replenish themselves. What do these companies think will happen when those resources are exhausted and our planet is tainted with toxic chemicals? All the money in the world can't fix that! Nor will it fix what's already been done for decades. If anyone here knows a 'good' attorney willing to undertake this and is ready to have us sign up let me know. Knowing the ink is still in the cartridge that has to be recycled burns me. Knowing the companies that rob us blind, and most likely reuse those same cartridges, just to get even richer disgusts me. If our economy is in shambles why let these bastards push us further into the financial muck any further than we are already?!?!?!
