Take it back to the store and swap it for a new one. If you don't have a receipt, buy another and then take the broken one back in the packaging instead.

So, you have to hold down power function until it flashes to OFF. Hold down MEMORY SET until time flashes. Then use forward and back buttons to change time. Then MEMORY SET again.......
