Kenmore 90 series propane gas dryer

My propane had to run out to change fittings on my tank. Now I don't know how to relight or reignite my pilot light on my dryer. I can remove the front panel but then what?

Hi, You should not have a pilot light, There are electronic ignitors on the dryers. Unless this dryer is 40 years old, just start the dryer and the heat should come on.
If the heat does not work, there must be another issue.
Please let me know if I can help you further.

Thanks
Vic

Kenmore 90 series gas dryer no heat

The gas ignitor most likley is not functioning. They do not have a pilot light like appliances in the oold days. They must ignite a new flame each use. if you don't smell gas when you try and use, then it is the ignitor and the computerized sensor tells the gas not to turn on because the initial flame has not been created.

Maytag gas dryer not heating

First make sure you have gas, then open lower section of this dryer you shoul see screws you will see a place to relight the pilot , if you smell gas before doing anything then stop your repair, see if the pilot is lit then push the red button and hold it relight pilot hold this button for a few min's after it relights, if it dosent relight check power goign to gas valve near pilot . Gas units have very little problems you may have just lost gas pressure and need to relight it , let me no ! what you see and we wuill go from there

Any time you run out of lp gas in a tank fed lp gas appliance what is the proper way to reignite the appliance when the gas lines have air in them?

Depends on the appliance. If it's a gas grill, turn the tank on very, very slowly until it's fully open.
If it's a gas heater or gas log set, the air will have to be purged out of the line, so the gas can reach the pilot, before relighting. If it's a gas range, depending on how long a run of piping, you may also need to purge it. If it's a gas furnace, you'll have to do the same thing. Unless, it's a high efficiency gas furnace, then it will purge itself when it runs thru the start up cycle.

Hope this helps.

I DO NOT HAVE NATURAL GAS AVAILAABLE WHERE I LIVE/

You can order an LP conversion kit to change it over to propane. Most kits cost between 30 and 60 dollars, and require you to take the drum out of the dryer to access the gas valve for the change over.

How do I relight the pilot light?

Hi,
There is no pilot light on many of the dryers of today. They light with a hot surface ignitor.
Here is a tip that I wrote about dryers and no heat on gas dryers...

I have a kenmore 80 series gas dryer and the gas line to it was recently turned off temporarily and now it won't get gas to heat up now that it is back on. Is there something wrong w/ the pilot mechanism??...

When gas is shut off, even for a short period of time, air enters the gas line and must be purged before the pilot will light.

Hold down the pilot light button longer than you think you should have to, then wait about five minutes to clear any gas that might have escaped then try again to relight the pilot. You may need to do this two or three times in five minute intervals.

Hope this was helpful.

Whrilpool gas dryer

Let it run. If nothing has changed, the dryer will go through several relight cycles and should eventually purge the lines of air.
