First thing to do is phone Dyson helpline and find out if they still have you machine covered by warranty (some models are covered for upto 5 years) if so they will send someone to repair it or send you the part to DIY it
If not,
I have found parts for mine on eBay, if you have found parts for you model but not the part you need message the seller and ask if they have one as it might not be a popular part

Check both filters are in place and secure check brush head and pipe is not blocked
If still no luck phone Dyson helpline they will talk you through amy other checks yoi can perform yourself

some options for this are craigslist, search >dyson>broken>vaccuum>DC 07

Options 2> we used duck tape for a year and it worked fine, then when a broken DC07 was posted on craigslist we bought it for parts.

Hi

The DC04 Dyson has a filter at the top, but the DC07 has one at the side on the bottom and one underneath the cylender.

Take all the parts off your dyson and throw them in the washing machine and then put them back together

If it won't latch after cleaning the latch and making sure that everything is seated well, get in touch with Dyson, they're great about making things right with their vacuums.
