When this extension is called from an outside line the caller is told "please hold while I page your party, then you are told that is not an option" you can still leave a message when prompted

Someone needs to finish programming the Voice Processing System and the TDA.

First of all, do you really want that option? It's a time waster and I can't think of a single installation where I have ever used it. The chances of someone really wanting VM pages to go to an external speaker aren't great.

If you do, the installer needs to make sure the option is enabled in the VPS and the proper integration codes are put in. That tends to mean that you can dial ^330x and that you have added the external page to the access code.

When a call comes in and I transfer to my boss' extension, incoming calls do not come through, caller states phone keeps on ringing. Also on that same extension calls do not transfer to voice mail.


  • Begin the transfer. With the caller on the line, press the "Transfer" key. The caller will automatically be placed on hold and you will hear a dial tone.
  • Connect the caller to the other party. Dial the extension of the party you wish to reach. When you hear the extension ring or after you've announced the caller, complete the transfer by pressing "Transfer" a second time. If the person does not wish to receive the call, press "Release" to disconnect from the dialed extension. Press the key beside the flashing arrow on the LCD indicator where the various lines are displayed to return to the caller.
  • Cancel an incomplete transfer. If you make an error when dialing and need to retrieve the caller, simply press the key beside the flashing arrow on the LCD indicator.

  • Park an incoming call. Parking a call at a designated extension allows the recipient to answer the call from any phone in the facility. With the caller on the line, press the "Park" key twice. To specify an extension for a parked call, press "Park," dial the desired extension and press "Park" a second time. Replace the handset.

A couple of things, but first. When you TRANSFER a call to your boss using the transfer button, he key to getting rid of the call is to hang up. But that's not your problem. When we install voice mail systems, we reserve 3 buttons; one for VM TRANSFER, one for 2 WAY TRANSFER, and one for VM RECORD. Pdf page 170 will give you the table for setting up your 94,91 and 90 codes for the above features.
Basically, you press PROGRAM, the button, and dial, for example, 94 500 SAVE to store the VMT . You use it by pressing that button while you on the call (no hold) and either dial your boss' extension or press his DSS button. If you use the 2-way transfer, you can actually put his number under one button and carry on a 2-way conversation with the outside party. Kind of like you would do with the old 'pink slip' messages.

Haven't you solved this yet? When we install a system, we reserve THREE buttons for voice mail functions. One is VM Transfer, one is 2 Way Transfer, and one is VM Record. In order you pick 3 buttons press PROGRAM one of the buttons and dial in order 94 500 STORE 01 500 STORE and 90 500 STORE, assuming your voice mail is on the default extension of 500. To send a call to someone's voice mail you press VMT and his DSS button or dial his extension and hang up. The outside party will get all of his greeting. If you want to prompt the user, like you would if you were taking a pink slip, you press 2W Transfer and his extension and carry on a conversation with the outside party. The message records in their mailbox as a new message. If you want to silently record into your OWN box, you press the VM Record button and your conversation is recorded into your own box as a new or old message, depending on how the system is set up.

There are other variations, including a single button transfer into someone's mailbox and some other features that are covered in you telephone sytsem OM or User's manual under Customizing your phone.

How do I identify extensions, transfer calls, conference call, change time.


To identify the extensions: if its a display set, press feature 00 and the screen will show the extension number. press feature 00 to exit programming.
If its a non-display set access the intercom and call a display set.The extension number will be displayed on the screen that is recieving the call.

To transfer a call: while your on the call to be transfered, press the transfer button and then the extension number of the person you wish to transfer the call toand hang up.

For a conference call:while on the line with the first caller,press the conf key (the caller will be placed on hold) place a call to your second party when they answer press the conf key again. all 3 parties will be bridged(you + the 2 lines) to get rid of one of the callers press thier line and feature 6 (conference drop)

Changing the time on a Partner system is done on either ext 10 or 11. At one of those ext's press the feature key and "00"
next press the left hand intercom twice
the display should say system programming
enter in "#103"
the display should say system time and the current programmed time
enter the new time in 24 hour format
press feature "00" to logout

Well I'm on reception and when I put calls through sometimes the other person on the other line has to push the call to pick up.. It only happens every now again. Most of the time I put the caller on hold...


Save yourself some time and decide how you want to process calls. If you press the DSS button directly, the outside line will go on hold and the inside party is rung. When they answer, if you hang up, the outside held call is immediately connected. If the inside party hangs up first, the outside held call stays in hold.

I would use the procedure "may I tell him who's calling?" Announce the call to the inside party as "I have a call from so-and-so" If they accept, you hang up.

Now, if you have to locate the inside party, press HOLD, then dial the extensions, page, or use the DSS buttons to find them. Tell them they have a call holding on line such-and-such, and they would know that they have to select the blinking line.

Back in the day, I used to be the fastest PBX operator in the place, and I just installed them :-) The key was to send it to a station you knew wouldn't answer and it put it out in a holding pattern before it recalled. This was in the day when you could only hold 3 lines at a time, so it worked well when the board got swamped. Today, with colored lights and timed recall, you don't need to do that.
