try this
turn on the light at night
if it doesn't turn off after say 5 minutes (you should be able to set the stay on time)
switch off and back on
for most security light operations that action places it in the watch mode
the light will come on immediately but will go off after the set time period
from then on any intruder movement should set it on fort the set period of time

I suggest google.

did someone unscrew them because they are bothersome??

I am having the same problem. The manual says to avoid plugging into the same circuit as motors & fluorescent lights. Mine is on the same circuit as a freezer. I'm going to try changing the AC outlet to see if that helps. Good luck!

Did you find out why?? I just purchased 2 of these and loved them as they worked for like a week and now both are not working however they are getting power as the red light comes on when there is motion...Please help if you know as I paid 110.00 each for these and I am confused how the bulbs could be blown?
