HP Deskjet 9800 Printer does not recognizes the cartridge and red light blinks even when the HP 97 (right cartridge) is installed. I have cleaned the contact area with Swab/alcohol but still it does not recognize the cartridge. I have removed the cartridge and re-installed it(genuine cartridge) many times but still does not work.

Take out the cartridge and examine the wire ribbon in the cartridge assembly. Many HP DeskJet 9800 users reported the ribbons getting damaged/punctured while installing or removing ink cartridges.
If that's the case your solution is to order part #C8165-67061 (google it) and install the entire assembly yourself. Be prepared that these items are delicate and some common sense is required.
You can also take the printer in for service to your local "big-box-electronic" store. This might not be cost effective so make sure you do your homework.

No computer of mine recognizes this printer and the left drip light keeps blinking even though i have repalced it

If by referring to the left drip light you mean the bottom left light; this is the indicator light for the color ink cartridge:
Left print cartridge light blinks, Power light on. Tri-color print cartridge is damaged or missing.
? Reinstall the print cartridge. If the error persists, replace the print cartridge.

? You can still print with one cartridge

it is possible that once the computer and printer are communicating that the error messages could also be resolved by running the printer diagnostic program.

If your computers do not recognize the printer, uninstall the driver, if you had installed a specific driver, and then go to the site below to download a driver for your operating system and specific printer:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=439154&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=439153 After installing the operating system specific driver the computer should recognize the printer. Trust this is helpful. :)

HP 810C. Lower of three lights winking. Ink cartridges installed. Driver confirmed as O.K. Attempts at printing form queue - now deleted. Will not print. Will not clean or do any maintenance function....

The blinking ink light means that the printer does not recognize one of the ink cartridges. Power the printer off, pull out the power cord, wait for awhile, replug and turn the printer on. If the light no longer blinks, ok. If not, try installing another cartridge pair if you have them available - even if they are old used ones. If the ink light continues to blink with different cartridges or if you don't have any different cartridges, old or new, you have a dilemma. Do you want a new printer or do you want to continue to chase this problem. To chase this problem, get new cartridges and install them (half the price of a new printer). If that works your set, but if not you need to have your printer serviced which is doubtful that it is worthwhile doing so.

The two red lights on the left hand side of the printer are blinking? What does that mean?

If you mean the ink cartridge lights, when they are blinking and the power light is on, it indicates both cartridges are damaged, missing or improperly installed. Take the cartridges out and reinstall them. Replace them if the problem persists. A full list of the codes is in the manual:

I hope this helps.

HP 9800 deskjet will not print

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

HP 932 RED LIGHT STAYS ON

The light you describe is the ink light.
When that light is blinking, try this.

Turn on the printer. Open the front cover and look at the carrier for the ink cartridges. There is a white arrow right above the latch for the color cartridge.
Once the carrier stops moving, the white arrow should be pointing to a symbol which represents the problem (the reason the light is blinking.) Examples are low ink black, low ink color, sick black ( replace ) , sick color ( replace ).

IF you have just replaced your black cartridge, you might need to replace your color cartridge too.
This printer will not work without both ink cartridges installed and full.
You cant print with a full black and an empty color cartridge unfortunately, even if you only want to print black.

Hope this helps!

Hp deskjet 9800

i had the same problem -- this is what finally worked for me. turn the printer off, wait several seconds, then turn it back on. when i first turn it on, the ink lights and the resume lights blink a few times. as soon as that stops, before the ink cradle or any other parts move, lift the lid. the black piece in front of the ink cartridges will drop down so that the cartridges can be changed.
