Question about Fuji FinePix Z3 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Downloading pics to pc...

My old camera just needed the USB cord to the PC and copied all pics to my docs into a new folder I created; however my new Finepix Z 3x optical zoom doesn't want to play like that!
When i insert the USB cord I chose the "microsoft scanner and camera wizard" but when it shows which pictures for me to chose there are only a few pics on there - not all of them.
Can anyone help? I have copied all pics from the camera memory to the memory card but this hasn't changed anything either.
Thanks

We have probably all suffered from 'odd' results when using inappropriate software. The Finepix offering downloads OK for me and for casual photography the free Picasa does that and editing very well. Have you loaded the appropriate software?

Haven’t been able to find any software, but you can try the following workaround:
1. Plug in the camera to the PC and ensure it is detected by the PC.
2. Right click START button and select Explore.
3. From the left panel, scroll to the drive corresponding to your camera. (It will usually be located after the last DVD/CD ROM Drive letter.
4. Click on that drive to expand the folders in the right pane.
5. Search for the relevant pictures from a folder within that drive.
6. Copy the required pics (Hold CTRL and click on pics in case you want to select more than one pic). Then rightt click and select "COPY"
7. Once you copied all the needed pics, select a folder on your computer (or create a new one) and paste the pics into this folder.
8. You're done :)

An external memory card reader is an easy alternative way to copy files from your
camera's memory card to your computer.

Hope that helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here.

Downloading pictures to my computer

I don't use software or anything like that. Here is what I do:
1- Plug camera into USB cord (with it being plugged into your computer)
2- Turn on your camera, a blue screen will appear with options, select "PC"
3- Open your "My Computer" folder, you should now see a new drive, I have 2 hard drives so my camera is usually under "H://"
4- Select your picture(s) and drag and drop them into a folder or wherever it is you wish to store your pics. It will not remove them from your camera or memory card, it will simply copy them.
5- Power off your camera and remove the USB cord.

Simple as that! :) Again, that is just how I do it! I use Ulead PhotoImpact to edit my pics and such. Hope that helps!
