Usually, you can remove the CMOS battery, unplug power from the machine, and press the power button. wait 10 minutes, replace the cmos battery and power cord, then start the machine. that works for about 90% of any pc out there. If that should fail, then look at the system board for a jumper that says "Clear CMOS" (it may also be a button). In order to be more helpful I would need to know the exact model of that xps.
