Question about Pioneer DVR-RT300 DVD Recorder/VCR
I have a StarChoice Satellite system, which allows me to set a program for recording. When the time comes, it sends a IR signal to the recording unit, identical to pressing the record button on the remote. When the program ends, it stops it in similar fashion. My starchoice satellite receiver allows me to cycle through numbers going from 000 - 151 to find the code, but to no avail. It worked for my other machines...

The DVD drive works harder when trying to record the info faster. As the unit ages, tracking is less precise. DVD-R copies occur at 4-16X real time. Try DVD-RW disks which copy slower (now that the price has dropped substantially), and you may find that your aging drive can still copy programs from the HD to the DVD.

This is an old complaint. I hope you got the remote. You have to connect VCR output to line-1 input on DVR, and you must also select it with the remote. I've been using it for a while, and it seems to work well. Remember to FINALIZE. jj
