Check your thermostat first to see if it may need batteries (some of the newer types of thermostats requir batteries to work properly, These are the digital types) If there isn't any problems there then check the electrical panel to see if there is a breaker for the furnance and if it has been tripped. If not, go to the furnance closet and check to see if the unit is plugged into the electrical service for the furnance, if it is plugged in I would suggest checking to insure you have the correct voltage comintg into the system. If so and you do have correct voltage coming into the furnance then you have a bad blower motor or blower motor capacitor. The capacitor can be checked with a meter that checks capacitors I would have this checked first and then the motor However if you have to replace the motor at that time I would replace the capacitor. Good Luck hope this helps
Assuming you have a split unit, one section out side, the other in the garage or inside the house. Check the section inside the house by removing the panel. You should see a large section called a squirrel cage see if it is running, if running remove and clean re install. Also check duck work in attic if squirrel cage is running.

Only your blower on the inside will work only blowing the air around the inside of house. You get cold air from outside uni.If you just want it to circulate air then turn it off at thermostat and change the auto mode to fan.
I was leaning towards a bad contactor. Either sticking sometimes or not making good contact. I would inspect the contactor for pits or burn marks near the contacts. DO SO WITH POWER OFF of course...but, what's the reset button you are referring to?? I'm assuming this is a heat pump, please send model number!!
If both fans runs (inside and outside), check if the compresor runs , if does probably the unit is low in freon and needs to be recharged after the freon leak has been fixed (remember this is a seal system and it shouldn't leak), but if the compressor doesn't work , it could be the capacitor , the pressure switch (if it's low on freon ) or the compreessor itself. But befor do anything ,if you have a digital thermostat replce the batteries.
If the fan outside doesn't work the compresor will overheat and shut off by the thermal protection inside the compressor , to fixed this you have to replace the fan motor and its capacitor.
If the outside unit is running and the inside unit is not, probably a problem with the fan motor itself or its capacitor. If you have to have someone repair or replace the fan $200-$250 with parts, a capacitor for a service call and part $100 or so. Check it yourself first to see if there is anything obvious broken wire, hot connection, etc if you feel safe doing that. Turn the power off first. There is also a chance the thermostat could be the problem. Have you tried running the fan on the thermostat "fan on" setting?
First check the breakers for the condensing unit (outside unit) and the disconect outside by the unit (could be a breaker ,a pull off/on switch or fuses)If its ok , you should have 220 ,240 volts to the unit contactor (you'll see it after removing the cover on the condensing unit). When the termostat is in the cold position and the temperature its set is lower than the one inside the house the contactor should be pulled in and give power to the compresor and the fan.But if the termostat is in the cooldest set and the blower inside the house works and the contactor in the condensing unit is not pull in the problem is in the termostat or in the low voltage wire.
You must make sure that there is power to both the inside unit and outside unit. Is the room air blower blowing? If not you have either a plugged filter, iced up coil, the access door is not quite closed or there is no power to the unit. Is the outside unit fan turning? If not, you either have no call from the thermostat, the fan is broken or the unit has no power to it. I would turn off the breaker to the inside unit and switch the breaker near the outside unit to off and let them sit idle for 5 minutes. Switch both breakers back on and chect to see if the outside unit turns on. Then check the indoor unit and see if this starts blowing. Let us know what you find.
