Thanks for the info. I tryed this and I'm still getting faint print. I have all OEM supply and photo conductors. The Photo conductors are new. I've tryed changing density and quality settings to no avail. I'm not sure what to do next.

    Help...

Ok here we go, I found what we need:

Warning: To avoid overexposing the photoconductors, do not leave the inner door open longer than 10 minutes.

    1) Open the upper and inner doors.

    2) Remove all four toner cartridges. (let me know if you are unsure of how to do this) but do not remove the photoconductors for this procedure.

    3) Locate the four printhead lenses

    4) Clean the lenses using a can of compressed air.
Warning: Do not touch the printhead lenses or they may be damaged.

    5) Reinstall the toner cartridges.

    6) Close the doors.

    That should do it!

Let me know if it doesn't work

Well it truly sounds like you've tried all the normal procedures you can follow to correct this issue. Download the PDF for this printer, go to the maintaining / cleaning section and make sure you've done everything as shown.

If you definitely have and you still have the problem you will need to contact Lexmark to find a local service center that can change the fuser (sounds like the problem to me at least, they can verify) out on the unit. Lexmark's number is: 1-888-539-6275 or they have a web form for locating someone, that is at:

I have a Canon PIXMA MP250, and it's printing black and faded lines alternatively. (one line black, one line faded black...), sometimes involve blue too.. Anyone can help?

First, are you running low on those ink colors? If not, possibly print cartridges need cleaning. If printer has separate print heads, they made need cleaning.
Lastly, print head(s) may need replacement.

Why do I have white / faded print when printing black? It also has problems printing straight lines - sometimes jagged sometimes just faded.

I do not know for sure but it sounds like the paper is not griped properly, this would cause the jagged lines. I would try another ink cart when the loose paper problem is resolved. I hope this helps.

Faded print on right hand side

Hi Tracy,
If faded prints happen even after replacing the toner cartridge or if your current cartridge has enough toner, it is most likely be due to dust at the laser reflecting mirrors inside the printer.

I have worked/ serviced similar Laserjet Color Printer with same issue.
Actually, faded prints are due the the dust/ toner dust accumulated on the optics (mirrors and lenses) inside the printer, which refect the laser beams to form prints. Hence the image is not produced properly. This needs professional hands for servicing and cleaning of the optics inside the printer.
Rest assure that the printer requires ONLY CLEANING OF THE MIRRORS, which are inside the printer. So, it is advised that you get the printer serviced by any printer repair/ service professional. (Please note that the mirrors, lenses and scanner assembly inside such printers is extremely complex and can get damaged very easily especially the mirrors).

Hope it would help. If you need any clarification, let me know
Good Luck!

Faded text every few lines- Canon printer

When you print photos you print in Max dpi, for this no faded lines anywhere. Probably you have a problem only in black color in print head.
Мay be it's partially clogged or partially defective.

Faded black and white print out (Canon NP 6035/6028)

Are you getting a E0020 code? If not there is nothing wrong with the hopper. Has the OPC unit been replaced recently? Also, have you looked at the developing unit? Dose the developer Mag. roller have a even coat or brush on it? If not have you cleaned the S-Blade or doctor blade? Also, have you cleaned the optics?

Faded line going through

Anne, This could be several things-here is a list... 1. transfer roller or belt dirty, especially if inside of printer looks like it needs a cleaning. You could vacuum with toner vacuum or take it in for service. 2. scanner mirrors dirty. would need to be serviced by a technician. 3. scanner toner shield out of position-tech needed. 4. toner cartridge needs to be shaken horizontally-toner could be all on one side of hopper. 5. the fusing section could have work rollers, they sometimes get scored and leave a strange brownish line on the page that sort of fades if you print multiple pages. Again, tech would be needed. Anne, thanks and good luck.. Thanks and good luck...

A faded line prints across the page

The imaging bar has speck of dust on it.
Turn printer OFF.
Open the printer. Pull out the transfer roller. Should have a big green handle. Do not touch the roller.
Look inside for a shiny rectangular block about 5inches x 0.5 inch.
This is the imaging bar. Using a lint free cloth with no chemical and no water, gently wipe this bar to remove any specks of dust/paper specks.
Put roller back.
Close the printer.
Turn printer ON.
Problem fixed.
