Re: keyboard replacement

Each laptop PC has screws on the bottom of the Laptop. They are labled on the shell at the bottom of the computer next to the screw. Depending on the Manufacturer! If you go to place your PC information in under the service and support, it has a detailed guide on how to replace your keyboard! If you need help let me know!

How to change hp dv1000 keyboard

You have to take the switch cover off.It is just snapped in there.Take a small straight screwdriver and and carefully pry the courners up first. Then the middle. After you get it out.The keyboard has four screws that you take out to remove the keyboard.Make sure you check under the battery. Some models have two screws there that are screwed into the bottom of the keyboard.

Screen replacement.taking the old off and installing the new

OK this is sorta ez and hard. Before you start unplug and take out battery. Ok on most laptops on the top part of the keyboard area is space where there are buttons for volume/power/etc. That piece comes off by using a tiny screw driver. Look for a little dip in the plastic it unsnaps there by popping it up. once this is off you remove the keyboard by removing either the 2 or 3 screws that hold it down. Now dont yank the keyboard out since there is data cable you need to pull out. By holding the keyboard in 45 degree you can pull the data plug from its socket. Now you have the keyboard out and from there u can see that there is a cable that runs to your lcd. Unplug it. That was the worst part of the ordeal. Now close your LCD and turn the lappy over and directyl under the lcd hinge under the laptop should be a tiny bolt holding the hinge down. Remove those and then open the laptop up at and try to pull the LCD out if it still dont come out then there are 2 more screws on each hinge u need to remove. Now it should come off. VIola its done now just put back the new one in same fashion. First hinges

I need open the Lap for clean the keyboard

You can lift the affected keys off the keyboard to get at the key contacts. Clean with solvent spray cleaner under the rubber contacts.
The keys can be replaced by positioning over the plactic hinges and pressed home until it clicks into place.
If this doesn't work you will need to replace the keyboard.
Keyboard replacements are available on the Internet, I replaced one from Yall Store for approx. $60

Hp pavilion dv1000 laptop pc keyboard not working properly.

Does this computer KB work alright in SAFE mode? If it does then drivers and/or viruses are the problem. If it doesn't work in SAFE mode then it could be drivers and or keyboard. Now try booting into BIOS. At the date prompt you usually can type any keyboard letter. If the keyboard works here, then you definately have driver/virus issues. If not replace the keyboard.

Thanks for your support

Remove the keyboard screws first, the screws that secure the keyboard have keyboard symbols next to the screws.
Some Compaq/HP have slide catches along the top edge of the keyboard between the number keys and the Function keys. Usually the slide catches are located between the ESC & F1 key, F4 & F5 key, F8 & F9 keys, F12 & delete keys. Slide these catches towards the front edge of the keyboard (ie. towards the space bar) you should be able to lift the keyboard clear. Don't forget to unclip the ribbon cables on the keyboard.

HP PAvilion DV 1000 Keyboard Problem

Seems like it actually may be a problem with the keyboard. Could be that those particular buttons are faulty. I would try a new keyboard. They seem to be cheap enough these days!!Hope this helps!
