Check your all of fuel lines for cracks / air leaks especially near any fittings. Also check the primer bulb (if installed) for any pin holes. The symptom you describe is either caused by fuel starvation or the introduction of air into the fuel system. Also check inside the gas tank looking at the fuel pick up tube END / strainer for debris. Make sure that the gas cap remains vented. If some one has placed plastic over the fuel tank fill hole and then the gas cap it will perform as you stated. This model also has a mini fuel filter that can be clogged causing fuel starvation.
Once you get the feul system sealed again by repair of the fuel lines or replacement of the primer bulb you should be back in the wood cutting business again WITHOUT making carb aadjustments.
Yes you do! The ratio is 50:1 fuel to oil. Be sure to use a modern synthetic saw oil available at home centers, hardware stores, and saw dealers. Be sure to use fresh fuel and mix the two in it's own container. Be sure to shake the container thoroughly each time just before refueling to prevent oil starvation in the engine. Don't make up more than one gallon at a time unless sawing is your business. Hope this helps!
Hello Brian; Why do you want to? You may never get it back together. The IPL is probably as good an illustration as you will find. Enlarge it enough to make the detail visible. There is a chain brake kit available that might include some instructions but no promises (brake dragging? try changing the clutch bearing). This is as detailed as it gets. Contact Homelite and they will likely tell you to take to a service center. Homelite/Ryobi.com (authorized parts supplier) https://www.gardnerinc.com/recons/disclaimer-lg.php - Agree; Choose “Product Line”; “Select OEM” & “Select Catalog” both to “Homelite Consumer Products”. A drop down list appears; self explanatory from here. cursor down to "Ranger 33cc 16" Chain Saw UT-10926". "Clutch - Hand Guard - Drive Case Cover" detail.
