After installing our Magellan 8502 we receive an error 7 on the LED screen. What does this error mean and how do we resolve it? We have attached this scale to the IBM 4594 POS system.

Hello, I updated my Magellan Roadmate 1440 from the Magellan website. Now, when I try to put in a destination, the screen says "route error, your destination may be in a restricted area or unreachable...

I contacted Magellan about this issue for my Roadmate 5045. They told me to reset the unit by sliding the power bar to to the off position for 10 seconds, and then let it sit off for a minute or so. When it powered up, the issue seemed to be resolved. But it comes back. Successive efforts using this method have about a 80% success rate.

Windows 7 is not recognizing Magellan Roadmate 2200t

try it on a computer running XP sp2 or 3 ..i dont have windows 7 so im not sure why its not hooking up..i know even with Xp sp3 it will install and i can update my 2000 but its not seen in the computer as a drive, but the update will install.

My gps screen says battery level critically low. Screen on top of that says Load error. Load button's bitmap fail. Touch screen will not respond

the following advice pertains to the following magellan gps systems.

Magellan 800, 860, 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3050, 3100, 3140, 4000, 4040, 4050, 5310 and 6000t

i fix these and many other magellan gps daily so when considering my advice , please understand i do not google my solutions.

assuming your car charger is working (the little green light is on) and your magellan still wont start up after holding the power button while its plugged in for up to ten seconds and still does not start..read below

this is actually a very common problem with these magellan power ports...they are poor quality from the factory and always and i mean always fail..the new ports that you find on ebay are 100% better then the factory port.

if your able to replace that power port yourself, you can get one HERE, if not, ask the fellow that sells them for help.

due to some dubious "experts" on fixya, im not permitted to help you directly, but please follow the link above to get further help.

From Magellan's web site, http://www.magellangps.com/support/warranty.asp, their policy on broken screens:

"Magellan will replace receivers with a broken display returned within the warranty period with a reconditioned unit of the same or comparable model at a reduced cost to customer. Customers with a broken display unit returned outside the warranty period will be given the opportunity to purchase a new unit at a reduced cost or reconditioned unit also at a reduced cost."

How do i connect for the GPS in my imate 8502 pda. what is the software required and how do i install them to access it here in United Arab Emirates

imate 8502 has built in GPS receiver, so you can use any GPS application with it. Google Maps is a free application which you can get by browsing to this website m.google.com/mapsfrom your imate.
For on road navigation you need paid software such as Garmin or copilot. Garmin is a good choice.

I dropped my magellan 4250 and the led screen was damaged, otherwise the unit works find. Is there anyway to get it repaired?

I got the LCD from ebay.com, with search key word "magellan 4250 lcd digitizer".

Blue screen with magellan logo , this is what I see after turn on my gps receiver, I tryed to push any button but anything change on the screen, to shut it off i have to use 'enter' ,'cancel' and power...

This is the boot screen, Remove the power connection, and reinsert while you press the "Cancel" button at the same time, if done correctly, your Roadmate should continue to boot and enter the user mode.

Bin the Magellan - nothing but problems when you need to update or resolve problems.. I am replacing my magellan with a Tomtom Go which does auto updates via a cradle linked to PC.

RoadMate 700 GPS is not working..

Does the initial Magellan screen appear? If it doesn't display anything and it's just blue... :( Normally means that something on the main board is your problem. Which, means your out of luck. What happened to it? It just suddenly stopped working? Let me know. R/

Error code 7 means a scale problem
For further troubleshooting, please click on the following website link to help narrow down the problem (please see page 90 of the document for determining what is wrong with the scale or start in section 4-3 for error codes )

I believe this document will help you fix this quicker than going back and forth since it is a great guide. If you have more questions though that the manual can't answer, please let me know.

The scale most likely is off of position or you have some broken connection, or bad software or hardware and so there isn't really anything you can do yourself except give it a quick shake incase something out of alignment or loose fixes itself especially if this is a new unit still in warranty Which of the E errors on page 90 does it give you? It is best just to call the manufacturer to see how they want you proceed so you don't void the warranty on it.
