U play another movie like a Hollywood movie DVD disc play on it have no squealing noises wright?Yes,than the blank DVD discs batch u have is bad.Tries buy another batch DVD blank discs, tries recording again should solved this problems.
The problem is dirt, dust or even mould on the VHS tape. You should look on youtube for video's about cleaning a VHS tape. However if it's really bad there is nothing you can do about it. Commercial VHS were only recorded on SP so the quality of the tape means more signal, so less of a problem keeping the video tracked, even if the tape has patches of mould, likely if kept in a basement!
I was wondering if you tryed unplugging vcr for an hour then
plugging it back up. sometimes this resits it and it will work fine.
the tape might eject itself out or eject button might work.
My 1st suggestion is to pull the AC power plug from the wall, wait 5 minutes (have a smoke or a coffee) and plug it back in. Then retry the functions that are giving you grief. Report back with the results and we'll go from there.
