There is no other way to remove the battery without unscrewing it. If you are not sure how exactly to remove you might be better off having a local repair center do it for you. There many small fragile pieces located inside, and a slip at the wrong time could spell disaster for your unit. You should check as well to see how much it will cost to replace the battery. Unless you're under warranty, with today's repair rates, if might be cheaper to get a brand new unit. Hopefully this will help you. Good luck with it.

If the charger works, and controller isn't holding charge, then the battery pack will need to be replaced.
