Re: jen air double oven

Convection ovens shouldn't be dripping anything. If you are making moisture-laden foods and the vent on the unit is clogged...even partly, you may have an issue. Inspect and clean. Pull the breaker!

There is dust buildup behind the control panel due to the openings in the vent trim. I'm worried the dust may eventually cause a short, etc. in the electronics. What is the best way to clean this ar

Use a small rubber hose or flexible tube and place one end near or on the dust. Blow thru the other end. The dust might have some grease in it, use toothbrush or small long bristle brush, similar to a baby bottle brush but much thinner, to help loosen dust.
Do not add insulation!!
If it's a convection oven, the vent might be intake. Most vents are exhaust. Does heat come out of it during use?
Is it fan induced? Put a piece of paper near it, does the paper get sucked in or blow outward?

I have a Bosch HBN 455 double oven with the convection oven on top, and a regular oven on bottom. The unit is about 5 yrs old. We recently ran the Self Clean mode, and it seems like it has malfunctioned...

Do you see any Error Message on the Display?

If not, then it should not be a Concern. More often this could be Thermal Fuse on the Back of the Unit ( On Most Models ) will stop the Broil and Bake from Turning ON. You would just start a bake cycle and the temperature will sit at 100 and something degrees and never raise.appliance.

Let me know, once you check the same.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The lower door does not close firmly. It seems like the spring load is weak. Is there a way to improve the spring tension? I have model CM302ZS (Microwave/convection oven on top and convection oven on...

There is no provision made for adjustment of springs,
I'm afraid the only solution is to replace both door springs.
Trust this helps solve your priblem.

On a Amana EvenAir convection Plus oven the convection blower comes on during the regular bake cycle.

There is a blower on the top of the oven, which turns on when the oven is hot enough. If the warm/hot air is coming out from top vent corners - this is the blower working. Even if you turn the oven off at that moment, the blower will still work until the oven cools down. This is normal.

Kitchenaid double digital convection conversion oven keypad went out. Any ideas on the problem. Electric panel circuit breakers are okay. Sharon C.

I think these use the same controller board as the Jenn-air units, they have a weak capacitor (C3) on the control board (Timer/control Display). Remove the top panel and look for a discolored or leaking capacitor (usually black about 1/2" high 3/8" in accross). Replace the capacitor and the problem goes away, until next time you use the self clean cycle which seems to overheat the control board and ruin the capacitor.

Vent fan stays on

The fan was on because the griddle element was on. 1/2 of the element was on so 110 volts was on at all times. If I had not been close to the oven and heard the fan I might never have found this problem. I replaced the infinite switch and that solved the problem. I found the model # inside the drip jar door. Problem solved.
