You don't think it has anything to do with the wireless DLINK adapter having an issue with the Linksys wireless-N Broadbank router?

Are you thinking the message little or no connectivity found on the PC that I'm trying to network is more no connectivity than little?

Just wanted to make sure that there are no known issues installing the Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router WRT160N on an Windows XP platform with DLINK Air Plus DWL - G520 wireless network adapters installed in the other networked PC's?

Nothing seem to help but I think I have now a good idea what's going on.

While trying to add additional computers to my Network using the Network settings from my

server computer it looks like it's an authentication problem. Data encryption type is WEP, Network

authentication type is Open, the Network key (WEP/WPA) is a 26 digit number that looks like

HEX. I can only key in 23 digits of the 26 digits. Not sure if I need to change the settings from

OPEN to SHARED with unchecking the key is provided for me automatically........?

What I do read onlline is some recommend to keep keying beyond the 23 digit to the end. They claim it will work even if the panel does not move beyond the 23 digit?

    Help!

Hi there,

There is no known compatibility issues on those hardware.

Looks like your router may be the problem here so lets see if a quick fix procedure solves the problem. First, power down your computers, then unplug your modem and router from power, then plug back in your modem and wait for the modem lights to stablize indicating the modem has reconnected to your ISP, then plug the router back into power. Power on your wireless computers 1 at a time and let them connect to the wireless network before powering on the next one. Check to see if all your wireless computers can access the internet and reply with your results.

Hi, It indeed appears that you are just having an authentication problem. Just change settings from open to shared key/password. Also, please choose WEP data encryption type.

Because this is a new router now you need to configure the set up of this router by going to 192.168.*.* Then from there you need to enable wireless if available and choose encryption type like WEP etc..Then go back to each pc that is using wireless and look for the name of your wireless network.Note that it will be different to the previous connection.Once you see the new name for this wireless connection then click on it and put same configuration security setting that you set up in the router set up screen. After that you should get a connection.

How can I get the router IP of my Linksys 2.4GHz broadband router?

The Linksys G router gives you both wired and wireless connections over a broadband Internet connect to create a local area network. The Linksys router is compatible with wireless G and B devices, through the 2.4-GHz wireless band. The wireless speed is at 54 megabytes per second and you can get 100 megabytes per second with a wired connection. You have to set up the wireless configuration on the Linksys before using it on your network.

Plug the router's power cable into an electrical outlet. Attach an Ethernet cable into the Internet port on the back of the router. Connect the other end into your broadband modem. Connect your computer to the Linksys G using another Ethernet cable. This Ethernet cable can go into any of the wired router ports. Open your Internet browser. Type "192.168.1.1" in the address bar and hit "Enter." This is your router's IP address and the home of its Web configuration page. Click "Wireless." Click "Manual." Alter your SSID, also known as your network name. You can change this name to any value that you want. You can also change the wireless channel if you are in an area with many wireless connections that may interfere. Click "Save Changes." Click "Wireless Security." Choose an encryption method to encrypt your wireless transmissions. WPA or WPA2 are common security protocols you can use in wireless networks. Input a network key, also known as the network password. Click "Save Changes."

Wifi getting connected with new linksys

You need to call Linksys again for them to help you setup the other computer. For the none-working computer, you don't need to run the setup CD for the router. All you need to do is connect to wireless network like what you did on the working laptop.

Linskys wireless-g broadband router not connecting to network

first thing, we need to know what this d-link is... Is this a modem? or another router? Can you check its model #, perhaps at the back? How many ports does it have? To verify your internet connection, try connecting your computer to the dlink and check its IP address (Go to Start> Run> type "cmd". On the black window, type "ipconfig"). Do you have internet connection when your pc is straight to the dlink?

I'm thinking that dlink is conflicting with the linksys settings. If it is, we need to change the IP address of the linksys router. Post back what you find out.

How can i reset my Linksys Wireless-G2.4GHZ Broadband Router settings

Try to reset the router. This should resolve your problem. That model has a small hole were you must press with some a paper clip for exemple for a few seconds. This will reset the router to its original state.

Is this crude diagram about right? Are the ptrs wired or wireless?
How many pcs? Wired or wireless? Getting their ip from which router? Linksys model #? Operating systems?
