When I print a one page document, tray 1 prints on multiple papers at a time. 1 page prints on 5 pages.

If you don't have a manual, you can find one here

My guess is either on the printer or the driver. Skimming the manual, it doesn't seem that you can set the default number of pages printed per sent print job on the printer, but that is something I would look into. This is a nice office printer, perhaps the printer is set to print multiple copies of everything it is sent. You could determine if it is the printer or driver/computer by printing to it from another computer.

If it is the computer, go into the control panel and select the properties for this printer. In there, check if the number of copies is improperly set to 5. This would happen for every print job sent from this system.

Does it print 5 copies of documents sent from different programs (i.e. Web Page, Word, Excel)? Quite possibly, one time you set it to print 5 copies and that application retained that as default. In that application, rather than clicking "print" click "printer setup" and look through the settings to see if it is requesting multiple copies.

I am 95% sure one of these three solutions will solve your problem.

We have Xerox Machine Canon IR C5800. the problem is while copying after more than 200 or 500 copies the machine copying is slow down i.e., may be 45 copies per minute. why? can u please sugest...

This model is 58 pages / minute in B&W mode, but If you print color prints it takes longer because the machine is built that way. Because the machine only have one drum unit instead of four, all four colors have to share the same drum unit, you can probably hear it when you take a color copy *chunk chunk chunk*. That is the sound of all the four developing assemblys spinning on a giant "revolver like" construction. And when taking color copies the machine have to calibrate it's colors now and then to ensure good color quality. So, once again, the machine is slower when taking color copies, nad faster with B&W.

This morning I thought I would print out some Shamrocks (for T.S. windows) on green paper. I put the green 8 1/2 x 11 in the bottom tray and asked the printer to print 5 copies. It would print 1 copy and a...

Was the green paper the type kids use in school. When my kids were little we called it contruction paper. If this is the case, your printer is smart enough to know that this paper is thicker than normal. It's responding as it should. Next time you want to print on this type of paper - select this in your printer's software control panel.

Takes 1hr to do 5 copies

Hi VJW,

From what you describe, I'd be leaning toward too much resolution. Try reducing it.

For example, a copy and print at 150 dpi, is four times faster than the same copy and print at 300 dpi (Horizontal x Vertical resolution). If the settings are at 1200 dpi, yes, the process could become quite slow.

Try it. The difference should be notable and immediate.

My HP LaserJet 4 Plus prints the same document 5 times when I print 1 copy. Why?

Sounds like it might be a problem with you driver. When you print make sure that your print settings are defaulted to print 5 pages

HP 4 Plus printing same job multiple times

I'm not an HP user but try this.

Does this work with all programs (e.g. when you try to print a page from Google) or does it happen only when using your word processing program? Which program are you using?

When you tell it to print one page there is generally a place in every word processor that will allow you to tell it how many copies you want. Make sure that setting is correct. Check your default settings as well to ensure they are set to one page.

If you don't know how to change the number of copties, go to your help setting in the program and look up "copies"

Also check your hardware setting on your printer to make sure you don't have it set to 5 copies.

Kyocera 3900 dn, is there a way to speed it up?

1.install the latest print driver; see if the rip/spool time is long or the printing time is long. The rip time depends by your computer (!) and the print driver (disable the collate option when printing multiple copies of 1 page = on the printer you should see 1/5 spit a page then 2/5 and spit another page for 5 copies of same page. If you see processing the spit the page then processing and spit the page means your computer is sending 5 times the same page instead of sending once and ask for 5 copies !!! )
2.use network connection instead the USB.
3.expand the printer memory
4.switch the printer from PCL to KPDL or Auto when printing pdf files.
