Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Are there fuses for the oven on my flat top stove oven. it is very slow to heat up

Yes, there are fuses (or at least 1 fuse), but if they were bad, your oven wouldn't heat up at all. You may have a bad element. Does your oven have a visible (or hidden) bake element? Does it have a convection fan & element? One of those may be bad, causing slow heating.

On my kenmore dryer 970-c82062-00 I can get all 3 timers to start but the heated automatic dry portion does not time out.

that model number doesn't come up,you sure that isn't the serial number?also does the dryer have heat, when you run it on time dry the timer just counts down like a clock, when on auto or more or less the heat comes on until the dryer heats to temp. the heat shuts off and the timer will advance, when the heat comes back on the timer stops moving,it will do this until the clothes are dry,if you do have heat you could have a bad sensor or a bad cycling thermostat but you'll have to check it with a meter.send the model number and i can help you better.

I have a Kenmore Dryer (Model 970-C87022-00), there is heat, however it does not dry the clothes. They actually feel wetter.

The most typical reason a dryer will heat yet not dry the clothes is going a blocked.restricted or crushed vent. Check the venting from the back of the dryer all the way outside and make sure its blowing good air pressure all the way through it,Also check inside of the dryer at the housing where the blower wheel is for lint build up.
