Laptop doesnot remember the date it goes to 1632

Compaq evo n600c doesn't remember the date. some times it gets lost on its way to proper desktop opening after starting

Sounds like CMOS battery needs replacement.Change the battery,if you don't have any idea or haven't done it before check this link out STEP 18 http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disassemble-hp-compaq-8510p-8510w-notebook-pc/ This will give you a rough idea,or you can call someone from the company to do that.

Yeah it could be. Always use the correct adapter mentioned for your laptop. Otherwise it could harm the inner wirings and the motherboard. Always go for the right adapter. If it was any motherboard problem, atleast it would've blinked. So this might be the problem of your adapter or may be of the power button.

Compaq evo n600c battery wont work


wrong battery for it or connectoers on battery dirty could be the charger for the battery is bad and shorted battery out

Reboot


You can insert the OS installation CD and hit F11 or F12 to get to the boot menu. The you can wipe out your hard drive and put a fresh copy of windows on it.

Compaq n600c brightness


Brightness:
Hold down "FN + F10 (sun icon) + Down Arrow" all at the same time

Contrast: Hold down "FN + F10 (sun icon) + Sideways Arrow" all at the same time
