    This is a large format epson 4000 stylus pro. The ink cartridges do not move. What does epson Service Code 0001001B imply? Thanks Chris

Hi there,

Error code 0001001B is a HEAD DRIVER (TG) Temperature error.You need to check/clean the head driver temperature sensor or atr worst it may need to be replaced. You may need an Epson certified to troubleshoot this problem, since temp sensor location is not included in their service manual.

Try cleaning the printer, cartridges, head and the rod on which the cartridges move. Also check for any paper jams.

    It usually mean that there is some mechanical fault in the printer. The cartridges might not be moving smoothly on the rod which holds their compartment. There might be something wrong in the paper feed mechanism also. Are the cartridges moving properly when you open the lid?

did you used a non-original ink cartridge? if you did your printer says"ERROR 0001001B" is print head error. need to be replaced, send to repair.

Epson Stylus Pro 4000 got the 0001001B error, I tried to restart the machine, but the error still comes up.


When determining a solution for an error, always look to what changes you instituted just prior to the error. In my case, I switched from FW to USB. That brought on the 0001001b head driver (tg) temperature error. When I switched back to FW, the error went away and the SP4000 display reads "Ready"

Stops printing half way through a canvas


The service manual says
"0001001B Head driver (TG) temperature error"
Head failure or head cable splicing defective/breaking of wire
Solution
 Head cable joint
 Head Assy exchange

You might try pausing the printer for 10 minutes, before it gets to the halfway point to let it cool down, then un-pause it.

You don't say how large the canvas is. If it is 44" by 60" or something large, above might be OK, if it is only 24" x16", it might be more trouble than it is worth, unless you are only printing a few.

Turn the printer on and I get this message:


try this turn off the printer

then...

hold the power button and the pause button together, it enters factory rest mode
