That error is telling you that the ink absorber inside is full. You need a shop to replace that because you need to use Canon diagnostics to reset the error code.

this is canon business ****. i disassemble the right side of the printer to access, remove and cleaned the ink absorber and still the error persist. CANON don't want people to clean and reset the counter. INSTEAD TO BUY AND NEW ONE. this is waste of money.

SOLVE! found a working reset tool for ink absorber E27 error MP190. the tool for MP198 works with MP190. link is athttp://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/... set printer to service mode first, the rest follow the procedure on this link and the reset software tool. you only need to clear waste ink "main", then "platen".

NICE SOFTWARE, Service Mode Tools Version1[1].050. WORKS to reset ink absorber E27 error for MP190.

The ink absorber is not the part you cleaned, it is under the entire printer. If you reset the error without changing the absorber the ink will soon overflow damaging the printer and whatever desk or table it is on.

now CANON is talking. this error is a business trick to let people buy another printer. its part of an intentional product flaw! After cleaning
that small white pad underneth the ink cartridge(at the rigth side),during cartridge at rest, and after using MP198 reset tool. E27 error was gone.

now if suppose that is not the only ink absorber, then error E27 should persist! ALAS komguy, your a canon ***.! tell me now! why the error was gone????

I am a Canon certified repairman. It's not a trick. The ink cleaned from the printheads gathers in cotton pads under the print engine. There is no sensor in these pads, the error comes from the amount of prints you make and how many times the heads are cleaned. If you reset the counter the error goes away but the ink keeps filling the pads until it overflows. The little pads on the right side are just filters for the used ink. Keep your printer on some newspaper or something and just keep printing...

4. Ensure that it shows 8-3 on the screen. This is EEPROM CLEAR

6. It will show 0 INK COUNT

7. Press OK

HI, well i have a canon mp190 but i can print because it's send the message E27

Hi ...

This error shows that there is an internal problem occured with the device. You can try and restart the printer which will reset the device. This resolves the issue sometimes but if it does not, the only option is to get it repaired ..

Don't forget to vote if this helps ... Cheers :)
