"View Available Networks: show all wireless routers that are reaching your Adapter. If they are "Unsecured" you can go on any of them. If yours is also unsecured, anyone that can receive it can go on it. To secure it, you must log into the router and set uo security. If you have the manual, either book or CD (in PDF format), you can read on how to set it up.

You must log into your wireless router. The best way is to connect with a wire, type in the router's IP address, something like: and press enter. The correct address is in the router's manual. Then you log in with a login name and password. These too are in the router's manual. Select Wireless or Security and type in a "SSID" which is any name you wish to call your wireless network. Then set up WEP security. Then click "Apply" and when that is finished you can clost the browser. Go to "Available Wireless Networks" and choose your newly named network. It will try to latch and will then ask you for the WEP key which you will have to type in twice. So make your WEP key simple and write it down, in the manual if you can. If you loose it, and have to reconnect, your pooched. So keep the WEP kwy handy.

You have to setup a password on your wireless network. This way you will only be logged on to your owns. No one else will be able to enter you network.

Do I have to use Belkin router to be able To use the adapter?

No. It will work with any router. You will just not be able use the auto security setup feature. But doing it manually is a piece of cake.

Can a belkin network card f5d7050 work with a belkin g plus mimo router

As MIMO is compatible with all wireless g products there shouldn't be any issues at all....
so some questions:
  • do you have other wireless devices working with the router? if so can you duplicate their settings for this n/w card?
  • have you set security on the router?
  • what are you using to connect to the network the windows interface (assuming it's PC not MAC based) or the Belkin one?
i have a linksys g n/w card attached to my MIMO router & it's fine so I'm sure that this is solvable!
