Hi,

This type of shadows usually come up if there is some problem in either the monitor cable or the cable is not connected properly to the VGA socket of your computer. Please check the cable for any visible damage and also remove and reconnect the cable securely to the computer.

This should solve your problem. If the problem persists, your monitor might need servicing.

Also, it would be helpful if you provide us with additional details like:
how old this monitor is, any previous repair history, whether this problem is seen only in text or images too, and also whether the problem started suddenly or it developed gradually over time.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank You for contacting Fixya.com

Please perform the following steps to find out if its the monitor or the graphics card which is causing this out of focus issue.

 1. If it is possible, connect a different monitor to the computer. If the flickering disappears, it is a fair indication that the monitor is defective, otherwise go to the next step.
 2. Set up the computer and the monitor on a different place in your house. If the flickering disappears now, it is most likely an interference caused by something in the original location. Check for devices which can cause interference.
 3. If the flickering persists, check the setup of your system. If available in the setup, make sure that the option Monitor Type is configured as Colour Non-Interlaced.
Good Luck and God Bless.

See if you can set the sharpness a little lower in the monitor setup on the pc, not the monitor first. Then try sharpness on the monitor.

Everything on the screen is blurry... not unreadable, but almost like there is a shadow behind everything.

LCD Monitor Shadow Effect
This problem is best described as the LCD monitor "Shadow Effect".
The solution to this very simple. No software or hard ware changes required.
The cables that are connected to the LCD monitors are causing the problem. Its also called as electromagnetic noise or electrical noise.
Solution: Keep the two cables - (power cable and moitor display cable), that are connected to the LCD monitor as far away as possible with each other and also away from other electrical cables.
Thats it. Your shadow effect is fixed.
Thank you.

iT CAN BE FIXED

cREATE A 1200X1600 100% WHITE .GIF TO USE AS A SCREEN SAVER. (IN WINDOWS YOU CAN ADD IT TO MY PICTURES SLIDESHOW)

Set this slide show to run after 2 minutes of non use.
Set the nonitor to power off in a short amount of non use.
say 15 minutes.
Do that for a couple of days and the ghosting affect will go away . You can then turn to a more reasonable screen saver.

I read through other solutions to this problem because I had the same problem. I checked to make sure electrical cords were properly attached, and vola! problem solved! I had no idea this problem could be fixed just by checking the cord connections. Thanks a million for posting this solution. I had been putting up with the shadowing, streaking for months! You really made my day.

Problem with monitor

Shadow after text is usually caused by an impedence or termination issue. If you have a multimeter, check the VGA connector pins 1 2 3 (R G B) vs GND should be 75 ohms. If not, cable is damaged or poor quality. Try a new VGA cable, should cost $5+
If the edge of the text is wavy, there is too much jitter in the signals coming from the graphics chips. No fix possible.
If the edges of the characters are lumpy, then the panel has a cheap A/D converter, try using it in DVI mode instead (white-white connectors instead of blue).
