How to network a Canon Imagerrunner 3030 copier

I work in a small office and we have a canon imagerunner 3030 copier. I wanted to network it so that we can print to the copier (right now we only make photocopies and fax from it) I pluged an ethernet cord into the photocopier LAN connection and then into our router which is connected to the cable connection in the wall. I am not sure what to do from here?? Also the copier now flashes check network connection? When I looked at the network connection settings the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway were all blank.. PLEASE HELP??

Thank you for your response....I tried that and when I was creating a port to set up the printer I entered the IP address and this is the error message I received: THE DEVICE IS NOT FOUND ON THE NETWORK.

Maybe I configured the machine wrong:
I connected the ethrenet cord from the machine to the router, I then went to system congifurations and under network settings I added the IP address as you indicated above. I said OK and then turned the machine off and on and then tried to install the printer

    Please Help..Thanks

Set the Ip address on the copier to match your network's Ip - only use different last 3 digits (3 digits that aren't currently in use on your network. Set the Subnet to the same as your network's Subnet. Set gateway to your Router's IP address.
Then install printer driver on your server, or all individual PC's if you are not using a server . When prompted select "create new port", then select Tcp/Ip port from the drop down menu, then type in the Ip you set on your copier, and continue to follow prompts.
If you are using a server, then you should select "share this printer" when prompted, and after installation is complete, go to each PC, and go to the "add printer wizard, and select network printer, then select "browse" to find it on the network, and select it.
that's it.
good luck!

Sounds like you set an incorrect IP. Are you sure you used a proper IP address? Do you know how to find your network IP settings?
Open a command prompt, by clicking 'start', "run", in the box type "cmd",, then "ok". A command prompt window will open. Now type "ipconfig", and press "enter" , you will see the ip address of your PC, the subnet, and the Gateway.(Note: obviously , you don't type the "quotes") If you're on a small network as you say, the Ip address will almost always be as follows: 192.168.X.X, the subnet will be :, and the gateway will be the same as your IP only (usually) ending in 1. to set the machine's IP use the exact IP of your PC, but change the last 3 digits. Again being on a small network, simply picking a relatively larger number should be fine (you can't have 2 the same, and they can't exceed 255). try using "222" in this spot (simply because that's what I use as my default printer number, and that will work fine, then enter the subnet as it read on yuor machine, and the gateway (your router's IP address). Then try "pinging" it from the command prompt I had you open. Simply type "ping 192.168.x.x" (or whatever you set). You should receive 4 successful responses, rather than "request timed out" if it is communicating, then go add the printer as I descrided in my first post. If you have done all of this properly previously, as I have described here, with no success, then you may have to enable the network port on the copier somehow, or perhaps "TCP/IP" is not turned on, but my knowledge of the inner workings of canons is not my forté , so I can't advise you on that.
    Good Luck again :)

Canon ImageRunner Scan feature won't connect to network

its waiting for the command from the computer. in order to use scan you have to down load the canon scan tool from / support/ downloads/ office products/ then canon network utilities. look for network scan gear tool ... down load save open run setup then open the program and you can either let it search for a scanner or you can put in the IP adress for the copier. then under your scanning software ( ADOBE PRO) eg. you selesct the scan gear tool as the scanner. to scan a doc you put paper in feeder select scan online then from your computer tell your software to scan good luck
