Question about Higher Education (University)

Open Question

Are there any colleges that do not consider senior grades, post-graduation?

I have a decent transcript up to, and including, first semester senior year. But some tragic events last March killed my transcript with two Ds, a C, and a B final semester. I hadn't yet applied to college. Are there any list of universities that will overlook these?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Is it normal or common for kids graduating from high school to not go straight to college/university?

Yes, it definitely common in this day and age. A lot of kids graduating from high school will take a gap year and start university/college in the following year or some time off to do some travelling.

Is it okay to post a pic of your college accepteanc eletter on social media?

You don't really need to do that cause it's somehow immature, you should be proud to post your distinction result after graduation not acceptance letter.

Is college actually worth the time and money?

It depends on what job you want in life. Some jobs require a college degree, and usually (not all the time) they are better pay in the long run. But the long run is around 11 years to make more money than you would have been for working a non degree job for those 15 years and not paying for college. Both ways are not wrong. There are plenty of people who live full and happy lives without going to college, and plenty who do the same with a college degree. If you want to keep working you could also apply as a part time student and just take a couple of classes a semester. The main idea is to do something you are passionate about and that's how you can be successful.

Why is it extremely difficult to find an attorney job after graduating from law school?

Hi Michele, careers in law are cyclical just like most professions. A good way to get an idea of the overall market is to look at how many new hires the big firms are bringing in, and what they're paying. That tends to have a trickle down effect on smaller firms and other employers.

I'm not sure when you looked, but the April data for the '16 USF graduates show 95 of the 140 graduates in some kind of employment. And 86 of the 95 were employed in jobs requiring bar membership or in a JD preferred spot. The roughly 1/3 of unemployed people probably had trouble with the bar exam, or aren't really interested in practicing.

I think most grads take the July bar, and get their results later that fall. So, with the exams and the character screening, there's a decent lag between graduating and actually being able to practice as an attorney in a jurisdiction.

Hope this helps!

Dependes on the college and getting into college doesn't mean you'll be okay( I'm assuming ok means get a job)
if you're worried about getting into A college you will be fine.
