Question about Financial aid

Open Question

My daughter just brought her 2 kids home to move in with her dad 5mi away. Whats her problem?

She enrolled her little boy in school, and was told since she lives with her dad, she didn't have to pay any tuition or book fees. She is considered homeless. I offered to pay for whatever they needed to enroll in school. She text me last night and showed me a list of classroom supplies, she said I could buy if I really wanted to do something. I text her back and simply asked, how much money she needed to purchase the supplies. She responded, she didn't know money was an issue and told me just forget it. I haven't heard from her since. Whats wrong with her, or did I miss something?

How do I apply for funzalushaka bursaries online?

Hello, Youngama -

First, Fixya.com is intended as a website for asking and answering questions on how to go about REPAIRING _THINGS_.

Second, I believe you reside in South Africa. If so . . . I recommend you ask your questions about bursaries to help fund your university education and other questions related to university study of an administrator or teacher of your current or former secondary school. Once you are a university student there will be administrators, faculty, and librarians at the university of whom you can ask your questions.

Those points having been made . . .

This is the link to the Funza Lushaka Bursary website:
http://www.funzalushaka.doe.gov.za/
Read through the information there and follow the instructions provided.

I am a librarian by profession in the USA. How did I find the Funza Lushaka Bursary website? I used my favorite search engine, Google, and entered the name of the bursary as you wrote it: funzalushaka

The first entry of the search results was the link to the Funza Lushaka Bursary. How hard was that?

Best wishes.

I forgot my password

Hello -

Since you ask about NSFAS, I hope I am correct in thinking you reside in South Africa. I am answering from the USA.

I suggest you contact the National Student Financial Aid Scheme directly. See the agency's home page:
http://www.nsfas.org.za/content/

I also recommend you speak via telephone directly to someone at NSFAS. If you scroll down the NSFAS home page, at the bottom in the lower right, you will find telephone numbers you can call and talk with a real person.

Note: The focus of Fixya.com is to ask and answer questions about how to repair things. It is not an NSFAS help site.

How to make money online

It depends on your skill set really, but if you are good at a certain subject in school, you can try tutoring. You can also blog, create websites, or even write articles about things you enjoy. Look at freelance writing or google "selling photos online"

If I don't pay back my financial aid, how much will it affect my credit score?

All depends: could be just arrears that u may pay back after 1-2-3 month and you will be always beyond(unless you can manage to pay this in one go.. then if you still don't pay the creditor start to contact you to see if you can afford to repay this arrears if you still ignore or don't pay the creditors pass your account ( mean your loan, mortgage, credit card) to legal actioner to try to settle your debts so if you still avoid this step your account go in default and at this stage your credit score go down a lot and to improve your credit score will be so hard and will be long term ( I believe that a default will disappear from your credit score after 5-6 year so at this point as a says if you need help financially most lender will decline your application.
