Question about Municipality

Open Question

What are my chances of getting off free when lied to about age? Or is this a scam? What steps should I take?

Yesterday I met a girl on Plenty-of-Fish dating app, her profile says she's 18, and she told me the same. She gave me her number, said she just wanted a hook up and we started trading pictures and making plans. Today, at 9:30 A.M. I get a call from someone claiming to be from the Florence County Police Department. They claim that the girl is underage, and that the parents plan to press charges. He also gave me the number of the "father", because he said the father was open to settling out of court. The number the officer called from is a Richland (A town not in Florence county) Verizon cell phone. The number of the father is from a landline, Olanta (which is in Florence county). After speaking with the father, he said that if I pay the phone off, and pay the de-activation fee, he wouldn't press charges. He claims the total would be around $550. The parents and the officer supposedly have a meeting at 9:30 tomorrow morning to determine what to do. On one hand I feel like this could be a scam, I don't feel like an officer would call from his cell phone or give me the name and number of the accuser. On the other hand I don't want to ignore the situation if it is real. What do I do?

Many smartphone users are more concerned about mobile privacy than a phone's brand; nearly eight in 10 smartphone users won't download an app they don't trust; and although the majority of those surveyed don't like the concept of tracking, nearly a third of smartphone users are still unaware it even happens.
