Joining British Military as an American?

I'm 17, I'm an American. I recently found out I was disqualified from the US military for being "Autistic" and having an anxiety disorder. The only problem with that is that the person that diagnosed me was a complete quack who didn't even test me or ask any questions regarding to the criteria of those disorders. So even though I'm not autistic or hav an anxiety disorder I am forever banned from serving in the US military. I don't know any way around this but I've had an Idea. My girlfriend is English, and I love her very much so, we've talked about living together but that would require us to get married so I can stay in the UK. Theoretically in the UK I can register with a GP without any previous medical records and start with a clean slate, allowing me to join the British army. If this is my chance for me to achieve my dreams of being a soldier as well as starting a new life with the girl I love. Then should I take this opportunity?

Can civilians salute the American flag?

there is no "law" against civilians rendering a hand salute. some already do,i.e. Boy and Girl Scouts, Police, Firefighters.
The typical or recommended salutes are guidance written into the flag code which describes flag etiquette. just as there is no law that says the flag shall never touch the ground, it is etiquette and respect that guides us.
