Question about Law Enforcement & Police

Open Question

I made a really bad prank call and now my dad's in jail and it's all my fault!!!! please help!!!!?

So my cousin walter said he'd pay me $150 to prank call the the Sex Addiction Intervention Hotline, and i was in need of the money, so i did. When I called them, I told them that my dad was a crazy whore who was so desperate to get laid that he broke into a K-Mart in the middle of the night just so he could hump the mannequins. I was lying of course, but a few hours later the police showed up at my house looking for my dad. Not wanting to go to juvie, I had no choice but to go along with the lie, so I told them that my dad molested me and they broke into his bedroom and arrested him on the spot. Luckily, he was too stoned to know what I did or what was going on. Now I'm home alone and terrified of seeing him again, especially once he realizes the full extent of what I've done. I feel so guilty and I have no idea what to do about my dad. Please help!!!!!

My girlfriend got a dui. She s 17 and i bought her the alcohol and she told the cops I did so they have my info. What s gonna happen to me?

You have already likely answered your own question by now via experience. You did things that were *******, but you know that. What will happen? Can't say as it depends on the evidence the police are able to gather. From there the prosecutor decided if they will take the case to trial or not. If they do, a plea agreement could be reached, or you take your chance in court. Either way be sure you have a lawyer.

Police do have discretion, so it is plausible that it never gets to the prosecutor.

Can someone tell me what is the difference between a jail and prison?

At the most basic level, the fundamental difference between jail and prison is the length of stay for inmates. Jails are usually run by local law enforcement and/or local government agencies, and are designed to hold inmates awaiting trial or serving a short sentence. Often "short" is designated as a misdemeanor conviction versus a felony. Prisons, on the other hand, are typically operated by a state government or the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). These are designed to hold individuals convicted of more serious crimes, typically any felony.

I heard men in prison beat up pedofiles. Is it the same for wife beaters?

This is not as bad as if he were a pedofile. However, if he is the type that only hits women he will not fair too well in prison! Most women beaters are wusses and will get their due in prison.
