Question about SonicWALL PRO 100 Firewall

Can't connect This firewall worked perfectly for a long time with LAN IP as and subnet mask I powered it off for about a week during an office relocation. Now I can't connect to it or even ping from another computer with a crossover cable and IP address and subnet mask I know the sonicwall has the IP address because if I try to configure the PC with this IP address it tells me that this IP already exists. What could be the problem ??

Hard reset the firewall and then check if you are able to ping the default gateway.Incase you are able to ping the default gateway then you are in business and incase you are not get in touch with your ISP.

It might probably a security issue , can u remember from which machine and from what ip you access the firewall before ??

Try to assign the ip from which you have last accessed your firewall

192.168.1.X is a local ip address ,, i trust that thhe vpn is in seperate places and is done with the wan ip over an internet connection?????

OK maybe the problem isnt on your side but the main office building,, when connecting , have someone looked for repeated attemps to connect by observing the fire wall,, if it appears to be blocked byu the firewall simply diasable any and try it out.. If it works then all you need to do is set the firewall correctly..

I was reading the ip address in your original post and those are local address,s are you certin the VPN is correct ???? did you use the correct STATIC IP ADDRESS ASSIGNED BY YOUR ISP??

Not certain of your question, but first, set up a single PC to connect to the SG565 unit. Information is entered from that PC.

The initial steps are:

1 Connect your administrative PC to the SG unit:
- If you are setting up the SG560, SG565 or SG580, attach your
PC's network interface card directly any network port on switch A
(A1 - A4) using the supplied network cable.

2 Modify your PC's network settings to enable communication with the
SG unit. Click Start > (Settings >) Control Panel and double-click
Network Connections. Right-click Local Area Connection and
click Properties.
Note: If there is more than one existing network connection, select the
one corresponding to the NIC to which the SG unit is attached.

3 Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. The
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties dialog box is displayed.

4 Select Use the following IP address and enter:
- IP address:
- Subnet mask:
- Default gateway:

5 Select Use the following DNS server addresses and enter
Preferred DNS server:

6 Click OK and Close

I have zyxel zywal 35 have two wan port, wan1 connected to t1 line, wan2 connected broadband line , now the firewall configured on active/ passive mode,it was working fine but some times. fire wall lan ip...

This is due to some bad packets on your network. Check the network for any worms/spywares. Also check if the ethernet connections/card donot malfunction.

Can't connect firewall

Have you checked the subnet? i.e., make sure both PC and firewall are set the same.

Check the firewall settings on the PC, for port 80, 8080 & 443 and the ip address of the unit if you connecting with web access.

Try to up the IP on the PC to, it some times does not like being before the device.

Aslo, some times the PC needs to have the network port reset, as windows keeps the old IP address, but shows the new. The quick way to check this, is to disable the network connection and then enable it again.

Sonicwall Pro 300 DMZ Problem

If you're within a network and try connecting to computers on it with the WAN public IP, it simply won't work - you must use the network IP. On an external Internet connection, it should connect fine to the public IP. If you have access to an external machine (remote desktop), or if you know of an FTP proxy, you can try it that way. I also believe a web based FTP client would act as somewhat of a proxy, you could try that with the public IP and see how you go.
