How to replace the switch on a flymo grass strimmer.

Hi Johnstone

Before replacing the power switch, try some other approach or you have need to analyze first. I have a question for you, Is your strimmer a cord less unit ? or with ac cord? If its cordless unit so its a battery operated, if so, try to check the battery. But if its with cord or ac cord, try to check the continuity of ac cord by using multimeter or ohm meter,

Stan try winding the cord in the opposite direction. It may just be wrongly wound. Also make sure it's the right diameter.

Hi Good Day I wonder if you could please help me, I have a Flymo Electrolux weed eater Power Trim 700, The cord holder where the plastic cord goes in is broken and I need to replace it, could you please...

Wendy, Have you tired going to www.flymo.com.
I went to that site and for the durban area, they showed three service centers. You might have more luck doing a search yourself because my geography of South Afirca is a bity rusty.

I have a flymo easi-trim electric hedge cutter that has not been used very much. When went to use it gave a loud high pitch squeel, this happened a couple of times before it started-up. But then it would...

when u say not been used verry much do ya mean it's possible it sat long enough for a mouse or two to make a nest inside the motor? LOL.
seriously tho it sound's to me like the motor just burned out. Personally I would recommend investing in a gas powered hedge trimmer. they last longer and do the job better plus there's no chance of accidently cutting through the extention cord.

Lack of information before purchase

Hi. I think I can put your mind at rest.  I work in a Flymo service agency. The Flymo Contour Cordless Power Plus has a guide wheel for accurate edging but, in common with all other Flymo edgers and trimmers, the actual cutting is done by a whirling thin (1.5mm) plastic cord that is designed to wear out and is fed from a replaceable reel under the cutter shield.  The only risk in cutting up to stone, concrete or other hard material is rapid wear of the plastic cord.  Unless your step is made of exceptionally soft stone there is no reason to think that the step will be damaged at all.
Good luck.  If this helps, please rate my response.
