This can happen if the Antenna has come unplugged. As the Am does not need the antenna to pick up signal and FM does. =) The back of your stero will have a plug about the size of a pencil that plugs into the wire leading to the anntena. Hope this helps. =)
If you have a SWR meter.put meter in line with coax. Dubble check coax and make sure its not pinched, cut. Antenna mount is tight and clean. No electrolysis build up At connection. Warning light is coming on for a reason. something is wrong in between radio and connection at the antenna.
This is low gain vhf antenna. this type of vhf anntena is used strong vhf signal area ony.any way you may try to roate the antena to recivicing signal. other wise you can use vhf booster.

Beginning February 17th everyone getting their channels over-the-air (antenna) will need a converter box to continue receiving their channels; doesn't matter what kind of TV they own. You can go to https://www.dtv2009.gov for more information and to request coupons to receive the converter box
