SOURCE: water is outside of drum

Hi, What you speak of is actually a good thing and would be a concern if you didn't hear it. It is not water, but actually a liquid solution used as a counter-wieght to off-set your clothing so the unit can reach a proper balance easier. Hope that help's qwell your concern and answer your inquiry. Please take a second and rate this info provided to you by me here at fixya. Thank you for using fixya & good luck. macmarkus :)

SOURCE: I have Hobart under counter

Hi

Yes you are right, using too much detergent can cause this issue, use less then half table spoon, if the issue remains then the problem is with the unit not getting enough water or the water pressure is not what is required. You can also try to clean the water inlet valve & check the water line for any clogs. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Next question, how do I get the slime out of the clothes from washer?

Cleaning the rubber door gasket will not get rid of the slime issue. The slime comes from buildup on the outside of the washer drum. There are two causes for this. First, if you always close the washer door after use, then the moisture inside the drum cannot dissipate and the slime can form. Also, using the wrong type of detergent (or an excessive amount of the correct detergent) can cause the slime. There are front load washer cleaning products that you can purchase and run to clean the slime from the outside of the drum.

Maytag bravos MVWB300WQ1 keep getting sd code on ever other wash

The SD error code is caused by using the wrong detergent or excessive amounts of detergent.

To correct the issue: Make sure to use HE detergent. Note: Using Non - HE Detergent will cause oversudsing and can damage the washer. Do not use too much detergent.

Note: If using HE 2x - 5x concentrate detergent, reduce the amount being used. The washer will try to run a mini-clean out cycle using cold water and a 5 minute pause to clear the suds. If this cycle does not clear the display and complete the cycle the clothing may need to be rinsed by hand and then rewashed without detergent.

My clothes are being stained by brown/black marks. I think it is an oil leak into the drum. Is it a seal and is it easy to fix? Frigidaire Gallery Model # FWT647GHSO

Spots on clothing in a washer are usually caused by a reaction between detergent and fabric softeners, but to check and see if these spots are petroleum based (oil), try removing the spots with solvent. If the spots will come out with solvent, but not with soap and water, then it could be transmission oil that is leaking into the tub and this is very bad news. This was a common problem on the older GE and Hotpoint washers. Sorry to hear about the problem that you are having and I hope this helped. Best wishes.

Water leaks

I had similar issue. Fill tube running from the bottom of detergent tray to the washer drum was plugged.... (by a sock!!!). How did it get there? I'll tell you. You see the drum seal (around the inside of the door) is not a tight seal. You can actually reach up behind it from where it meets the top of the drum. Anyway in my case, a sock made it's way through that seal and outside the drum and into the drum containment vessel. So when the drum spun (to dry the clothes and empty the water) it made a terrible noise. The sock became lodged at the base of the fill tube opening and plugged it thus not allowing any water into the drum. Instead, when filling, the water just flowed out from the bottom of the detergent tray and onto the floor. I hope this helps.

Kenmore front loader drum grinding

This can be a symptom of drum bearing wear. A quick check for wear is to see if the inner drum moves up and down relative to the fixed outer drum. It should only move a minute amount. If it moves more than a millimeter or two, it is probably worn bearings. Regarding the bad smell - Make a boil wash (with no clothes and detergents) put in the powder's drawer a cup of bicarbonate of soda. It should clean the machine and remove out the bad smell. Good luck!
