Question about Samsung Tablets & eReaders

1 Answer

I have a Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 wifi only SM-T710NZWEXAR. Is it a real model? I can't find support for it anywhere. Not even hen I search on the Samsung website

This galaxy tab s2 sm-t710nzwexar wifi only model was sent to me by Samsung to replace my Galaxy tab s 8.4 sm-t700 wifi only after the repair center finally said that it would be several weeks to get any parts. So a Samsung Rep contacted me in Aug 2015 to say I have to exchange it for something else and if I didn't respond to the email in 3 days time that Samsung would return my under warranty tablet back unrepaired. So they sent me a Galaxy tab s2 sm-t710nzwexar and that was received by me 4 days before the official release date of September 2nd 2015. It has been having a lot of account issues and every time I go to the store or web I am asked if I mean model SM-T713NZKEXAR. On the product page on the samsung website it has a different image then the description and no relevant information or simulation to help me. It has manuals that have the marshmallow 6.0 OS legal info but no way to download any upgrade from 5.1.2 to 6.0.1 androi OS. Can anyone please provide me with any information as to why I was given this tablet as a replacement when its clearly not comparable to what I had with my Tab s 8.4. Customer support has never had any answers or returned any calls. EVEN E.C.R HAS Not returned calls to me they scheduled to make with me. They have ignored my requests for the confirmation paperwork that my old tablet arrived at the exchange center and a copy of the new Tab s2 order confirmation they said I would be getting upon them sending out the replacement so I would know when it shipped. Anyone got any ideas or answers. Thank you in advance

When you say Samsung can track it by the MAC address do you mean they can track the places it has been since the time it was manufactured? It's a replacement that was supposedly shipped out from the Samsung Exchange Center. I was told that I would be receiving a confirmation letter from the exchange center that my tab S 8.4 was received by them and then another letter of confirmation that the new tab s2 was being shipped to me with an order number for reference along with a tracking number to follow the package till arrival. But I have never received any of those letters and have requested them several times with no results. The Samsung ECR dept claim they place a request with the exchange center but when I call them for an update it seems like the details of the request are not in the notes. And they have been contact every few days for over s month. How would I use the MAC address to track the tab s2? I don't know how it would be incorporated into the situation for tracking? Thanks

They should be able to track their inventory records with the MAC address and determine where it originated. As far as their customer service is concerned, I have no information - they may be overwhelmed by their recent battery problems, or just plain incompetent.

Well it's a good idea. Unfortunately I am the only one who has owned the tablet. I received it on August 28th, 2015. The tab s2 I have was released in the U.S ON September 3rd. So That's a few days before the release to the consumers. I believe that the build date on the log says it was built a week before I got it. I might be wrong. But if that's correct then I would imagine that it didn't go through anyone else for use in such a short time. So tracking couldn't have to much info could it? Sorry for the question but its all a bit new for me. Can I access my logs through the recovery mode? And if so is there a way to understand what it tells me? I know that it will be using a bunch of code and abbreviations that I have no way to decipher. And kind of glossary or breakdown for reference would be useful for me. Thanks for your help by the way I appreciate you insight.

Looks like a valid model - e.g. portableone.com is selling it, but to verify, check the About information on the Settings screen. Samsung should be able to track it using the tablet's MAC address. Try Samsung Global in case this model is one sold outside North America.

What kind of wifi remote/wireless do I need for a Samsung galaxy tablet?

If you have a combination modem/wireless router you should be able to connect your tablet to the internet. If not, you will need to either buy a wireless router that connects to your modem to broadcast the wireless signal or contact your service provider and get the combination modem/wireless router.

I cannot get my tab 3 which is brand new to even see my wifi at home. it says it is not in range. i have been able to connect to some free wifi in other spots. help!

I read something about manually adding a wifi spot...Don't remember where it was but try Samsung dot com

go to your wifi page and do a search will progressively getting closer to you modem... if it doesn't see it in range at all, check with your internet provider as something may be conflicting... I've had no problems connecting to my home wifi or wifi spots all over the state of Florida and I have the same Tab. Wonderful product and you will enjoy it. Also some apps are made for mobile phones only and will not work with the tabs... keep this in mind
