SOURCE: connecting thermostat to noma baseboard

Hi!!
Click on the following link to obtain a manual for your Noma Baseboard Heater. http://www.qualitycraft.com/files/QBD-500%201000%201500%20Baseboard%20IM.pdf The wiring instructions are in the manual. The wires at the ends are not supposed to touch each other. You can use either side to connect the power supply to the heater.
On the Thermostat, I believe the Heater uses a thermostat that runs on 220v, your regular thermostat runs on 24v, that's why the thermostat burns. To make your thermostat work you would need to get a single throw contactor with a 24v coil, a 220v to 24v reducing transformer, etc. I think you better off getting the thermostat form the Noma guys.

Check your wiring to the base board heater itself, is there any jumpers that should have been removed? Are the thermostat leads on the correct terminals at the base board heater? This sounds as though it is wired directly to the power and not thru the thermostat. Please check your paper work for wiring, if you are not comfortable with doing this please consult with an electrician.

Just moved into a condo (about 14 years old). Has a programmable Noma Thermostat with no manual. We are having trouble figuring it out. Need help !! Thanks. Stan Plolnicky, Medicine Hat, Alberta

Did you find how to use your NOMA digital thermostat? I live in a condo with base heaters. Have three of those. They are less than one year old. When it got cold recently one of them went up to 34 degrees. I couldn't budge the numbers. It's caput. The second one I caught going up on a cold night this week so I solved the problem by shutting down the electrical box. The base heat came back. But without the manual I am working in the dark.

I have base board heaters in each room and each with a thermostat and hooked to a controller. The controllers activate the heat in the base board heaters. I believe this is how it works. When you activate the thermostat, it sends a message to the controller that sends a message to the base board for heat.
The controllers are Singers. Prbkem 2:. When I turn down the thermostat (to off), I still get heat in the base board heaters. WHY.
I was going to get rid off the controllers and thermostats and buy new base board heaters at Home Depot. The thermostats are on the base board heaters. Will this work.

Slow leak drips from bottom of 4 year old model

Hi

Please try and remove the cap by turning it clockwise and counter clock wise to remove it. If it doesn't come off then empty the water dispenser and use glue to fix the leak. See this link to see which type of glue should be used--- Glue Usage

Overheating

Posible thermastat sticking closed. If thermastat doesn't open heated water is trapped in the engine causing it to run hot and not allowing hot water to travle to the heater core when called for.
