I want to upgrade windows 10 from windows7 because i dont have drivers for windonds 10 im using lumia 1520 with windows 10

You can do it online. Visit Microsoft network update site. This message itself comes you by Win-10. I did get its full update today. the only thing you have to remember is that the installed version of the Windows-7 at your computer now should be a licenced version. No pirated version can be updated.

Have a dual boot system, windows7 & linux. tried to update to windows 10. stuck at grub rescue.

It sounds like grub can't find the correct partition to boot Windows 10. This should get you through it: http://askubuntu.com/questions/654386/windows-10-upgrade-lead-into-grub-rescue
Keep in mind that Microsoft never tested the upgrade on a system that dual boots with Linux and uses the Grub loader. You are in uncharted waters.

How to empty computer

First you need to be sure that the computer has the minimum system requirements to run Windows 7. You can check that here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/system-requirements. Then determine the version of windows currently installed and choose the correct upgrade. You can watch a short help video here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/videos/choosing-the-edition-of-windows-7-thats-right-for-you. Then follow the directions to do a clean install for the software you choose and that will clean out all the old files.

Windows7 is not compatible with my Cannon Pixma MP170 Printer

Hello,

There's still hope for your printer. Just download the MP170 update driver support for Windows 7 from your printer manufacturer.

I've already taken the liberty to search the driver for you. Click here. Just put in Windows 7 on "Select OS".

Hope this helps. Thank you for using Fixya.
