There is no real way to fix a disc with a crack in it, you will need to recreate the disc, once the media has been cracked it is unrecoverable without very advanced and expensive means

Please if possible come back to the question here and rate it 4 thumbs. It looks like the answer helped you, but for some reason it doesn't rate it 4 thumbs unless you come back a second time and specify 4 out of 4 thumbs. I hope you will do this for me. Thanks Tim

No, unfortunately not. But very often the Distributor of the DVD will replace an official disc for you and you might only have to pay the postage. Find the address of the company that markets and distributes the DVD.
You could download a free dvd ripper software and may try to copy some of the contents to the harddrive of a computer and then burn a new copy.

Thanks

My DVD/VCR Combo has been back and forth to the shop where I purchased it. I eventually gave up on sending it back for repairs. It says UNKNOWN DISK. It is not under guarantee anymore. Is it worth whi

The laser is likely failing and it is not able to read the disk information anymore. The best thing to do here is just replace it. The price of decks is so low fixing it would cost more than buying a new one. Bluray players are down to $50, DVD players as low as $20.

Tries it with many other DVD discs,If u have the same result the DVD player Laser eye is having problems and it dying, not reading Data's from the DVD disc anymore. If not, that only DVD disc, that have problems, than check DVD disc for smushes, grims and cracks on the DVD disc itself. If it is the DVD player having problems with it Laser eye and it dying. The DVD player is junk not worth repairing. The DVD player sell really cheap these days, like $40 for a brand new one.

My daughters viore 21 inch dvd combo wont read dvd's

The fact that you are hearing a squeaking noise means it's a mechanical defect. The drawer belt is a likely culprit in this case. Unless you are familiar with electro-mechanical systems it's unlikely that you can fix it at home. For the least expensive fix you need to purchase another external DVD player and hook that to the audio video INPUTS on the back of the set.

You might try a local repair shop for an estimate on your product.

Can not read dvd format

The player uses a different laser to read dvd's in respect to cd's. Either there's dust on the laser (or lens) and it needs cleaning or the dvd laser unit is busted - it can't be fixed, junk it and buy a new one.

NO DISC

I had the same problem , so nowing about electronics i did a test at the read eye . then i notice where the ribbion cable joins the reading eye looked like it was crack at the contact so i replaced the ribbion cable from a old dvd player I had sitting around it worked that was three weeks ago. the cable i,am talking about is white in color that it connected to the board and the reading eye . it crack is so small at the it can be over looked . this was caused by the head moving back and forth.over time .

Have you tried cleaning lense with soft cloth and alcohol? Sometimes cd or dvd cleaners do not work well for some systems.

the Laser is most likely defective. most likly it will need replacement. There is no correction that can made to correct the problem except to that of a replacement of the laser
