you should have several kinds of inputs options on TV .If you have a surround audio receiver .Simply go direct to receiver on any available input .If using diect to TV , use any available input on TV .More likely VIDEO 1 or 2 (game or camera input)on front or side of flat panel

Use the Audio Output jacks Red/White from the Tv to the Tv Audio In on the Yamaha. If the audio out is being used from the tv now then go to Best Buy, Radio Shack and get a Y-adapter (rca jack type) with Single Male--Double Female. That will split off the audio coming out of the tv.
