Why does neither the co-axial cable from my DVR Cable box nor the one from my TV fit into the coaxial plug on the Magnavox ZV427MG9 DVD Recorder/VCR Combo ?

Check the coaxial cable connector type. There are two kinds--one that look like the RCA connector that you can just push in.

The other kind has a nut that you have tighten over the coaxial cable connector on the DVD recorder.

Ethernet gives network signals from computer server with connectivity capacities. Once the ethernet is connected to your computer, once of the computers within the network structure has a modem or signal converter box to capture and distibute signals. Your computer is functioning with ethernet cable connection as arranged default. Recent computers however have wiifii capacities meaning that, the modem box is not ncecssary to make signals recognised. Recent computers have builtin signal recepticles, once the programs wireless features are enbled, any available computer networks aer detected. Howver, the wiifii makes connectivity to networks by requesting password keys if the aletrnate computers have protected the entry. Simply said, your computer is ok to function with ethernet as regular achievement. only when the ethernet is malfunct usually caused by the computer that has the modem disconnecting from yours. Your computer should actually get better networking with only one of the method available either ethernet or wiifii. Attempting to receive signals with wiifii and ethernet at the same time impedes the network speed since the structures may only allow an amount of data passage for each network on the same computer. Use the computer wireless buttons located at the system settings area to disable the wiifii until a computer request within your knownlege request to activate wiiffii. Keep in mind that once your wiifii is enabled, another computer is sharing resoruces makign the computer slower if a password was not set.

WHERE TO PUT THE WIRES ONE IS A DATA CABLE TH OTHER IS A ETHERNET CABLE?

I dont understand the question. Usually connections are very self explanatory because sizes of plugins are unique.
An ethernet cable has an rj45 connector and can only plugin to an rj45 connector.
Usb have 4 or 5 type connectors but they are unique to them also.
Personally I never use the USB connector cable though sometimes you may have to if the modem or router doesnt seem to work with the ethernet cable.
Lay people that have no idea how all this modem router stuff works should probably follow the directions for setup using the USB cable.

1) Are you referring to the IBM ThinkCentre S50?
(S may look like an 8)

Also need the Type. On the back of your ThinkCentre is this information.
Example: TYPE 8125-E1U

(The S/N after it stands for Serial Number. Do not give this number out, except to authorized personnel)

(I can give you the direct link to Lenovo Support for the Ethernet drivers, with this information.
IF, upon installing the Ethernet drivers does not cure the problem,
look to see if there is an open, {Available}, PCI slot for an Ethernet card.

With the 'Pizza Box' style of computer case there may not be, nor may there be room inside.
However they do make low profile Ethernet cards. {Ethernet Adapter Card)

Or you can find it here,

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=TCTR-MATRIX

It will go in an available PCI slot, or PCI-Express x1 slot.

2) The Model Name, and Model Number is on the bottom of a laptop. Usually in a white Service Tag of some sort, but older models may just have it etched into the plastic.

Usually close to the Windows Product Key, (Holographic sticker)

3) Use a USB to USB Crossover Cable.
Example:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3272684&sku=C184-39977

A USB to USB Crossover cable, isn't simply two USB A male connectors on the ends of a cable.
There is a bridge in the middle of the cable.

It crosses over the wires.
(Easy explanation. In essence it crosses over the wires. In actuality, it crosses over terminals in the USB connector end.

This shows the pinout of a USB cable connector,

http://pinouts.ru/Slots/USB_pinout.shtml

The style used for your desktop, or laptop will be a USB A style.
There are four pins in the connector.

Pin 1 is 5 Volt DC
Pin 4 is a Ground, or Negative connection)

If you have a cable with the ends in the same direction, you will BURN out the USB ports.

The crossover cable reverses these connections. (Pins)

I await the exact Model Number of your IBM ThinkCentre, and the Type.

Compaq Preario SR 1208AN ethernet connector faulty

Have you spent about $5 and tried a different Ethernet cable?

Look at: http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00251993/c00251993.pdf

For your desktop computer, the Ethernet adapter is integrated into the motherboard. So, to replace the connector, you will have to replace the motherboard, costing over $200, unless your computer is still eligible for service via the HP warranty.

It would be much easier & cheaper (under $20) to purchase a PCI Ethernet card, install it into an empty PCI slot, install the software from the CD-ROM that came with the card, and connect the Ethernet cable to this card, rather than to the integrated socket.

I am trying to connect the ethernet cable to a philips RJ45 wall

There are two standards for ethernet wiring. Most cables use the B standard, but many manufacturers of central wiring boxes (OnQ, LeGrand, SmartHome) have central units wired to the A standard. Wall outlets have to be wired to the same standard as the central unit, assuming there is one. You have to determine whether the other end of whatever you are wiring is wired to the A or B standard. If you are wiring both ends yourself, use the B standard. The wiring diagrams are here:

Garmine Marine Network Wiring

There is nothing unique to Garmins wiring so an ethernet cable should work. I think it's a crossover but I did it a year ago so I could be mistaken. It's possible that the cable isn't fully connecting because they have added that big knurled screw on part to make it water proof. I had a problem with a Raymarine recently and it turned out to be a defective cable. If you purchase Garmin's connector it comes with instructions on how to assemble. You need a special crimping tool. I bought mine from Radio Shack for @ $40. You could probably save money by buying 2 connectors and cutting the ends off your ethernet cables.
