In case you have a PCI display card (not built-in the motherboard),take it out from its connector and then place it back (maybe you have a bad conntact). Be aware you should do it while your PC is disconnected from the main PC power (main power cabel)!!!!

Do the smudges move around or are they in the same position all the time??If they appear in the same position it sounds like you are having a problem with the invertor panel or the back light circuitry.If you could post photo of fault would be helpfull

I have the same problem and was told by a technician that I need to replace the light engine. Probably around $ 700.00.

Cf my issue above on LE32R87BD The repair guy came here two times and finally changed the LCD panel which is very expensive. So far, it is working again properly.

There are bad solder connections on the flyback transformer and fuse #FL231 is open. Pretty hard to repair this yourself.
