You can get a bit more transmit power out if you know how to adjust it. You would need a watt meter. and use the software. If you intend to run it continuous duty, I actually suggest lowering the power. Your radio will last much longer. I find a better antenna , antenna location (height) and coax always outperform a small bump in power. Always use the best connectors you can buy. Cheap connectors will cause problems. Best of luck!

Hi Jamie, max RF power output on Icom F6061 is 45 W. Do you need any other info or help with finding a distributor for purchase?

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Can someone at the store program my ICOM IC-V8 handhelp police scanner if i take in to them?

Answer is yes.
Look up your local Icom dealer.
They mostly are small communications companies (not big box stores like Best Buy etc) used to dealing with commercial customers but happy to see personal walk in customers too.
I would expect charge for basic programming to be around $50 - $60.

Cannot transmitt

The Icom 756 Pro is a very expensive radio. If you bought one and it's not transmitting I really recommend taking it back. It could be anything from the mic, power supply, final transistors, board, anything really. It's going to need to be scoped and looked at in person.

My SSB ICOM IC 707 antenna was stollen, I need another antenna what brand should I use beside Icom

Hi Tats,

Sticking with the brand/Make is always the best & recommended option, having stated this fact, you would do well by looking on websites such as ebay, under electronics, then radios, then Parts and Accessories, there is always a heap of new and refurbished gear for all Makes of radios including ICOM, and they're not expensive.

I hope this helps you to resolve your problem.

Icom gp 270 ml powers up. No satellite reception

You will almost certainly find that the internal battery has died. So the machine cannot store the time where you are so it cannot find satelllites unless you wait a very long time. You can prove this by looking for a stored waypoint. If all your waypoints have gone, then this is the problem. In my experience the batteries only last about 4 years.

Can the Microphone be replaced on a ICOM M302 Radio

The MIC is available with the cord from Icom or me (847-746-0100) It is not easy for the novice, it must be routed through the front panel and plugged in to the circuit board inside. Not impossible to do, just tedious. Also, my wild guess is about $50 to buy the mic, so, not worth it if you pay labor!

If you where going to Buy one radio which one would you Buy?

I am a marine electronics technician with 28 years experience. I have also been a licensed amateur radio operator for the past 12 years. Based on my professional experience with both brands (Icom and Yaesu), I have to advise you to go with one of the Icom units. The Yaesu is a good radio, but Icom's customer support is far superior. I have had no problems dealing with their service department over the years, something I can't say about Yaesu.

Hope this helps.
