I need the wiring diagram of a two speed Elin electric motor ,the motor is installed in a milling machine & lay combination.( Maximat v10-p) The motor have 6 leads, red, grey , black, orange, brown & blue. The coils between the leads seems to be all 5.6 ohm......
The motor should be able to run forward as well as reverse.
The motor on the milling side is not a problem seeing that it is a seperate motor whith only 1 coil and 1 speed and 1 direction.
Thanks for your efford
Jaap.
SOURCE: 1/3 hp drill press motor runs hot and very slow.
Look instead at the motor and drill post bearings. Remove the belt to see if the motor runs correctly with no load. If it still hums and gets hot, check that the motor itself turns freely (when off). If the motor seems to be ok, turn the driven pulley by hand--it should also turn freely. The capacitor is usually a starting assist, not running. To test, wrap a small rope several turns (when pulled must turn in the normal direction) around the small motor pulley and pull smartly while turning the motor on. If it now comes up to speed, the capacitor has lost capacitance. Electronic parts suppliers like Jameco or Mouser have such items.

The red, black, and blue wires should go in any order to the 3-phase motor starter. Reverse any two of these wires to reverse the motor, and bump start the motor until rotation is verified . Not sure about the yellow and brown wires--they may go to the motor starter as an over-temp shutdown or as power to the unloader valve to close it when the motor runs and opens the valve when the motor is off. Hope this helps!

You will destroy the motor by running it with multiple speeds tied together. So be careful. Just try and get it to work with 2 wires and tape the others off away from each other and the frame so they won't short anything out.

SOURCE: I purchased a varible speed controler to use on my
most drill presses use a capacitor start motor with internal switching . a variable speed control will not work most rely on step pulleys for speed control. possibly you could have blown your capacitor

on the motor should be a diagram detailing the wires. brown white goes to either side of the capacitor and brown wire to other side of capacitor. hi speed goes to normally open contact on the indoor fan relay and the wire designated common on the motor goes to the other side of power from the relay contacts.
