Question about Washing Machines
The model is old PL 512. Inside the controller there is a set of what looks like plastic "cams". Could it be that they are worn. If so can the controller unit be replaced
It indicates that it is the old style clock programmer and they have a service life after which the points activated by the cams and they pit or burn and the controller becomes unreliable in operation
you do not mention a make but if it is a westinghouse, simpson, hoover, whirlpool, the controller is upwards of $150.00 ---$200.00 aud and are getting scarce
Best advice is to call out a technician for the brand and get a proper diagnosis and go from the quote
