I think it is running a test mode. Some kind of button pressing combination might free it from this.
It might go away if you can plug it into a vga source (pc, laptop) and hopefully change it from there.
Good luck.

I fixed it using 2 monitors my working one with DVI and the ASUS with VGA and used windows 10 sysyem settings, display, and clicked detect, and it finally worked, but also did factory reset on ASUS monitor just to be cautious^^ and the customer service is a joke they wanted me to mail it in.

SOURCE: Dell E173FP Screen blinking red, green, blue, white

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. I have a Samsung LED computer monitor (model S23A300B). The monitor connects to my Macbook air. The Samsung monitor recently stopped showing the picture on my laptop. Instead, red, green, blue and white...

Try the plugging the setup into a different monitor to eliminate the lead however it sounds like the monitors died. With cost of screens even if you can get hold of one you'll be better off getting a new monmitor.

Try to disconnect the set and a box if being used from power for a while and then power both back as either could cause this problem.

How can i play ps2 on lcd without having a black and white screen ? how can i connect the cables ?.....when i look at the back of my lcd i find three ports (red white yellow) when i use them the screen is...

1) The set of input (Yellow= Composite video, Red= Right channel audio, White= Left channel audio). This set of input is for composite video.

2) The set of input (Red= Red video signal, Green= Green video signal + sync, Blue= Blue signal, Red= Right channel audio, White = Left channel audio (the Red and White will be grouped close together). This set of input is used for Component video for HD signal.

You should try using composite video source (Yellow RCA jack) from DVD player and feed to the monitor and see if it works OK with all color showing that way we acn find out if it is the video source problem or the monitor video signal processing problem. Try the PS2 on the TV if it works OK also.

The monitor will not show a picture the led is flashing green

* If the issue is visible in the monitor STFC (Self-Test Feature Check), the monitor is defective. * If not, the issue is with either the video card driver or the video card.
* Turn off both your PC and monitor * Disconnect the monitor from the PC (either the white DVI or the blue VGA. They should never be connected at the same time to one PC) * Turn the monitor on * The floating Dell red/green/blue/white dialog box should appear on a black background * Check for the issue

When you turn on the TV the screen flashes through a sequence of red, green, blue, white & black screens. Unable to access menu & no sound. TV Model LG 27LC2D

Sounds like it's in a service burn-in mode. LGs need a service remote to de-activate. Probably easy for a local LG shop.
