Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Original Numark hdmix not reading. Tried using another hd from a PC. Still not working. The hdmix is reading a flash drive as well as a WD external drive (with AC power), but not will not read a Toshibsa USB drive. Tried updating Librarian and Firmware. This did not help. I was able to read the hdmix hard drive on my mac, but even that no longer works.

You have to run the librarian on anything that ytou connect to the HDMIX. It needs to build the HD tags to your songs. It takes a long time to do it properly with BPM's etc.
The hard drive needs to be only an IDE drive. They don't tell you that in their literature. They say it's upgradable into the terrabites, well it's not. The largest IDE drive made today is only 500GB, so their advertising is wrong. You need multiple IDE drives to get a terrabite since no one makes anything larger than 500gb and no one will! IDE is 15 year old technology. I don't know why NUMARK would not have designed this unit around an ESATA drive and not IDE.

Hi, The largest IDE Hard drive I've found is a Seagate 750GB on Ebay for around £70.
All seem to be working fine with my Numark HdMix. Sine the harddrive is huge, its taking a long time to run the librarian to sync the music onto the mixer. Once this process is completed, djying has never been much easier & enjoyable.
Hope this helps!

DVDR3575H doesn't recognize replacement HD

Unable to FORMAT the HDD in the device? Perhaps remove the drive - hook it up to a working PC temporarily, and using a partition software program or you could burn a CD (I use PartitionWizard), delete any or all partitions on the new 160GB WD and make that drive UNALLOCATED and UNFORMATTED. Apply the actions as needed - only to that drive (this will at least allow your unit to recognize it properly). Once done, remove the drive from the PC, and put it back into your recorder - see if it recognizes it this time, then try and format it (in accordance with the type of file system the unit uses - which may differ from that of a PC). Replacement drives should be formatted to suit the unit they are intended for AFTER they are fitted, not before. Otherwise you run into compatibility problems (e.g. the drive won't allow recording/doesn't read etc., but might work in a PC). If this is the case, it may explain greyed out options and not being able to record to it. If you still have the original drive, check the jumper setting to be sure. If both old and new are set to CS - leave them as is - don't change that.

I have a WD media player and my HD crashed recently. I installed a new one but i now get an error message saying that my HD is not detected yet it works fine on the PC - please assist.

If it works OK on you PC and not in the WD, it suggests to me that you have the disk incorrectly formatted. Most media players use a Linux format not a windows format (fat or ntfs). Try deleting the partition in the PC and then format it with the WD. I presume that you replaced it with the same size disk as many of them will not use anything larger than the original size.

Noise from the hard Disk not a very good Sign.

Try the device on a friends or a relatives PC. if you have the same result , you might be having a defective HDD. best would be to take it to a local repair shop for recovery of DATA. ( if you have warranty now would be a good time to use it)

WD HD Media player damaged my hard drive??

Hi Dear! This problem could be solved through a software. You should use Western Digital Disk Manager, your WD hard disk will work properly after using that your WD hard disk pass all test of the software. When it will pass all test it will work properly and in other condition if it will not pass then you should try again so that the software will fix the error and it will made workable.
Thank You

I want to reformat myextensa 2300 laptopanits not working by the method in the booklet on the info disk can you please tell me how to clear the hard drive and restore the system to original

You will still need the original drivers and OS using this method first you need to remove your hard drive, determine wether it is an IDE or a SATA or other connections and get a USB IDE or SATA connection connect this to your hard disk open you HD to another PC like a USB flash Card back up all DAT using this technique then reformat you HD return your HD to you laptop reinstall OS and drivers then you have a fresh laptop. Buying a new Hard disk will also be easier then you can just use your old HDD as a backup. Best of luck read manuals and be careful.
