Do the controls crackle when you move them? If so then you need to spray them on the inside with Servisol Video 40 or other non corrosive switch cleaner. Not WD40.
Other causes are Electrolytic capacitors and faulty output devices. Often the main amp device.

My subwoofers cut out after 30 seconds of use but work fine during the 30 seconds...my fuses are all fine and i'm running thick wire with an 80 amp fuse connected off battery...I have a lanzar vibe286...

If it's only your subwoofers cutting out and your speakers are still playing and all, try turning gain down on sub amp and see if that fixes it. I know if I crank my amp too high it kicks itself off to try to keep itself from blowing.

Is there a on of switch and is the green or red light to be on

There is no main AC power switch on the BU series; it's in standby mode whenever it's plugged in.

When playing music normal LED color should be green. After no signal for 10 minutes or so it will turn back to Red (Standby)

Is it possible to hook the infinity bu-1 subwoofer to a home theater system where the subwoofer output is straight power say it"s like 25 watts coming out of that one channel and before the original...

In general higher speaker impedance is safer than lower impedance for the amp. Don't expect anything impressive re: audio output from a passive (unpowered) sub if your HTS says it pushes only 25 watts. Without frequency bandwidth and distortion noted the spec is virtually useless as a comparison.

The BU-1 is a powered sub that accepts either RCA Line Level or HIGH LEVEL amplifier power. If you use the latter, impedance is a non-issue because the input feeds the BU-1's internal amp, not the speaker directly. You should be okay.

Perhaps if we knew some specifics about the HTS we could do more than guess.

WHAT FUSE IS USED IN THIS SUB

The fuse is external, mounted on the back. I think it also holds a spare fuse. Rating is marked next to the fuse holder.

Power lapse/popping sound

The soldering to the wires can go bad. Making the unit turn on and off. The vibrations of the subwoofer over time will cause them to work free. Then when in operation they will cause them to break contact again.

Static in speaker

Check to be sure you ran the audio wires away from the power supply wiring. I always run the audio down the Passenger side and power to amp on Drivers side. Also check you Ground, and be sure you have metal to metal, no paint obstructing the power.
