SOURCE: 8' Optical Cable from TV to Receiver and Signal is Breaking Up

Before you buy anything try checking the AUDIO Settings in the Menu of Each Device (Mostly TV) and see if they are set to PCM or BITSTREAM. HDMI is mostly set to PCM while Optical is generally Bitstream. The TV may be set to the opposite of what it needs to be. I would try to get PCM to work first cause it is Better, If not then set what you can to Bitstream and it should pass. Also check in TV Menu for SOUND OUT or AUDIO OUT or SPEAKERS. Some TV's have a problem passing Audio through when they are already Outputting them to it's own Speakers! I Hope this Helps out!

My vizio is blinking back and forth from the blue no signal screen to the actual hdmi input screen which is connected to a cable box. What is going on?

Have you tried a different HDMI input? (If available.) You may be able to test the cable box of PS4 using component cables to confirm that all but the HDMI is not working. You may try pushing or holding the HDMI cables to see if you can make the problem better or worse to identify a possible flakey HDMI socket.

HDMI cable does not work with Dish hd 612 box what is problem

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. There could be a few different reasons that your HDMI cable is not working. The cable could have gone bad, sometimes the cable is loose and you will need to make sure it is secure or when the cable was taken out of the TV or receiver it may have been accidentally damaged. What are you seeing on the screen when you have the HDMI cable plugged in? Please make sure that the the TV is on the correct input to receive the picture from the HDMI cable. You can also try to reset the DISH receiver box by unplugging it from the wall for 10 seconds. Another option you can try is replacing the HDMI cable to see if the cable has gone bad or been damaged. The last option to try would be to use the cable on a different device such as a blue ray player or gaming unit. If the cable does work on a different device then the receiver may be the issue. I hope this information helps and if you have any further questions or concerns please let me know!

HDMI signal cuts out for a few seconds constantly from receiver to television. It does it when switched to cable box and the roku box. Onkyo TX-SR606 Scientific Atlanta Cable box thru HDMI Roku Box...

Mine did the same thing where the screen would go black for a few seconds and then the picture and sound came back. I would try (1) switch HDMI cables, (2) try a different HDMI input in the back of the receiver, (3) try different input in the back of the TV. None of these seemed to work with mine. I finally ended up running the cable box direct to the TV and only run the audio through the reciever via coax or digital. No more problems. I think the HDMI inputs in the back of the reciever have a problem continuously carrying the signal if it is the leaset bit weak.

Not able to get picture when connected to PC via HDMI

bbutler,
Your Toshiba can handle PC screen resolution up to 1024 x 768
Lower the resolution of the PC screen to somewhere between "640 x 480" and "1024 x 768". It will work just fine.
It's not likely that there is a any physical problem with either the PC or HDTV.
1. Right-click anywhere on your desktop
2. [Properties]
3. [Settings] tab
4. Slide the "Screen Resolution" pointer to the LEFT to adjust and click on [OK]
*DONE*

Intermittant disruption of Picture and Sound on View TV/HDMI only

If i am not mistaken you can select the HDMI signal going out on the 663, this means you should select to have only pictures to go out as sound will have to be reproduced by the 663.
So HDMI output setup on the 663 should indicate image only, no sound.

HDMI ON ILO 32HD

it sounds like there is a problem with either the output on the PS3 or the input on the circuit board of the TV. I would try a reset on the PS3 first. Also make sure that there are no other video or audio cords plugged into the PS3 because this will cause the PS3 not to send the signal via the HDMI.

Toshiba hdmi ports not working

I talked to Toshiba about his problem, this morning. They said they have never hear of such an issue. I told them the TV was less than 1 week old, and would hope Toshiba would do something in response to my alternative action of returning both my Toshiba HD DVD and 52LX177 for a new brand. They said all they can do is have me go to a service center for them to repair it. 1 week old TV and DVD, $4000, for repair; I don't think so. I talked to two different people a Toshiba regarding this, with the same answer. Very poor customer support, especially for a higher end product like this. I think I have no choice but to change brands.

HDMI connection problem

On your TV set remote are you selecting the proper input; for example when you have different devices connected to the back of your tv set, dvd player, vcr, cable box etc; you have to tell the tv which device you want to use by selecting the right one on your tv remove input selection. Hope this was any help.
